What do you guys think about Kamelot? I really like it, but I'm questioning whether or not I should lsiten to it, particularly the song "Abandoned." What do you guys think?

:o :o :o

I never heard of them before, but I checked out youtube and the first song I clicked on was "March Of Mephisto". :o :o I'm frightened. Now I need to try to get some sleep without any nightmares.

Cheyenne, that's wild stuff! You of all people! I can't believe you're into that. I'm not condemning you. It just doesn't fit with your persona here on the board. :shrug

...going back to my happy place... :shades

I'm sorry, but I could not help but laugh when I read that, as "March of Mephisto" is one of the songs I will listen to, but not watch the video to simply because of the guy with the make-up spewing up black stuff. In fact, it was the one video they edited out of due to the graphic nature.

So not necessarily sure it's a good thing to be listening to, especially considering such. The video is disturbing. But not all of their songs are like that and watching the video is different from finding musical value in the song.

But I grew up with my cousins who were a bunch of metalheads, and one of them got me into symphonic/power metal. I like the melodic properties of it, mixed with the metal. Not much into the whole growling thing, unless it is done tastefully.

But the less scary songs by Kamelot are songs such as "Don't You Cry" and "Love You to Death." However, "Love You to Death" may have a slightly creepy quality to some in its video as far as the singer goes with the glares and expressions. Nothing like the video for "March of Mephisto" though.
