Keylogger spy programs... HELP!

Help!

There is a keylogger spy program on my computer and I can't find where it is located because I don't know the name of it. I am using Spybot to get rid of adcounter and other malware, but it doesn't seem to get rid of this keylogger. It takes words I've typed into searches, into my emails to others and just about any keystrokes I've done, it will then take key words from the history and use them to send me emails. For instance, the other day I did a research on a company from that published some prints in the 1940's I.B. Fischer Co. from out of NYC, the next day I got emails with Fischer as being the sender! I'm even getting emails from myself my own email addy! that I never sent. It's such a mess. I can't use spam catchers because of some emails are frauds using my very own addy! I'm even getting emails indicating that I got e-card greetings from a family member or some friend or some classmate, or someone they think I would recognize as reltative to me and in the headding it reads as if it's from a ligit web site but then I look at the details and it's not even from any of them! It's from some fake sender from over seas or from some hotmail addy that is being used to generate spam.

I'm at such a loss. I'm ready to throw my computer out the window!

I have windows 98. I'm not upgrading because it makes no sense to do it on such an old computer. The only program I'm using to scan is Spybot.

Where is the location of these keyloggers and how many differnt names are there for them? I don't even know how to identify which files to eliminate. plus, don't tell me to go into the register to eliminate the start up. they just reload after the registry is cleaned! :sad So I need help. Please.
Somebody, please help me! Pleeeeeeeease.

Also check out Part Patrol. It has a keyboard checker that runs in the background. It blocks such spyware and warns you if it finds anything.

Yes run those programs in conjunctoion with each other. What one does not find the other will. And if that does not get it. Try the trial version of Spyware Doctor' just to clean up your computer.
 
Sorry I haven't replied earlier, I've been busy.

Since my email has been so awful contaminated to the point of this horrible program sending me emails from myself. I think I have to change my email addy. That's going to take some time before I can do that because I have subscribed to so many newletters in regards to my hobbies and other interests.

I'll try the programs once I am ready to change my email addy and then see if my computer is cleaned once and for all.

Oh you get them too! Most likely they're not really coming from you to you... they manipulate it so that it looks like it's coming from you, but they're not. SO don't do anything drastic like switch email addys, unless it is a last resort.

Run the utilities now, especially if you think someone is loggong your keystrokes. Also, do not surf the internet bareback. Install a free copy of Zone Labs Zone Alarm firewall. It's a must these days. Zone Alarm is highly reliable and very easy to use.... Oh, did I say it was free? :-D

I get emails from myself, but that is because noone else wants to email me! :D
 
Yes Vic you are right' I use Zone Alarm' I like it better than OutPost. Also Relic if you really want to clean up your PC from all garbage. Get the trial version of Panda software' and trust me it will get rid of it. It will find it first' and it will make repairs. And when it gets to bad' I always do a clean install. Which you' might not know how to do. So lets just stick to the previous suggestions.

Let's hope the OP has this solved by now since it was posted in 2007, and the issues was for Windows 98, not Android or IOS.

Seeing how you did not read the post, how the program cost money, how the program is not even related to solving the issue of a post dated 8 years ago...........

How this is your "FIRST" post with a link to paid for Software....................

You have to be a spammer, or just just stupid with no ability to read, comprehend the original issue, and can't see a difference between 2007 and 2015.

Since you can type, then the odds of being that stupid is pretty low.

Which means your a spammer.

I amaze myself at times.

guys, relic left along,long time ago. shoot vic c doesn't even post here anymore. I was here when relic, solo, and vic c were all here. as was Lewis.

The only real solution is to cease running Windows. With this information I will assure you that you have two keyloggers in your computer. One of them cannot be removed because MS in conjunction with the NSA installed the spy program in 7 and has not been removed, the other, looks to me to be very annoying.

If you download Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop and dump the windoze you will have neither issue and the software is free, including the better 40,000 free packages for just about anything. So, you do that and WOW! You cannot run your windoze games. Here you spend $60.00 for Crossover and bingo, they load and run as native.

Hey Bill, I know Ubuntu is the solution to preventing cancer, solving World hunger and leading widows users out of their land of viruses.
However, you responded to a post made in 2007. I am pretty sure the viruses have overcome them by now as they have not been back for awhile.

Yes Relic and Solo wow I wish they would come back. Vic does not even look in on this board anymore. And by the way I use Zemana Anti Keylogger it is the best out there for Windows, I have been using it for about 4 years now on my computers.

I have reinstalled 8.1 on my HP Desktop that I will be receiving 10 free to test and I know it has that hidden key mapper, key logger or what ever is in windoze but except for my dislike of the Great Pretender, I don' t have anything to worry about from my government.
