even too long for me , army regs. I have made soldiers cut their hair , and have my hair that long and cut it. my hair is will be shorter then that in a week when I cut it.

Ah! i cut my own as well high and tight and i shave, Jesus was a Nazarene his hair wasn't long these pictures of him with those long locks are a mockery, else why would He say:

I Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

tob

The bible has the answer to all of life's questions Free Jesus had short hair else why would He turn around and say this..

I Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

If it doesn't have the answers man so desperately needs where is man to turn "science"

Uh, if you're going to take this one verse out of context and make doctrine out of it, I think you should at least study it enough to know who actually said it. You have it wrong, which doesn't give me a lot of confidence that your conclusion from it should be considered sound doctrine. You may also want to look a little deeper into who it was being said to and why it was said to them.

But, it's true, this has nothing to do with the girl and the school. It seems according to the statements of the school that the girl had many other problems and her hair wasn't part of the reason at all. Maybe we need to understand that we really don't know what happened. One side says one thing, the other side says another thing. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Maybe we shouldn't be implying she's a "sodomite" and such things unless we can find out what the truth is on why she was removed from the school?

I'm not taking it anywhere Obidiah you either believe Gods word has the answers to life or you don't where do you stand?

1Ti_5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
you either believe Gods word has the answers to life or you don't where do you stand?

2Co_3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

2 Cor 3:6 seems to apply to a lot of things and would be a good verse for people running some of these schools and churches to look at these days. I think about this school apparently accusing this little girl of being a homosexual seemingly just because of her haircut and style of clothing. Yet I think back to girls I've known as I was growing up. Two of them I know of came out as lesbians after becoming adults, yet both of them had long hair and dressed very much like traditional girls. Just goes to show that the "letter of the law" about things like the style of hair and clothing means nothing. It's the spirit of God's word that counts. In Corinthians, Paul (by the way, it was Paul's words in Corinthians, NOT Jesus, as seems to be a misunderstanding among some here) isn't talking about women being prohibited from cutting their hair short so that they don't become lesbians. He said this for a very different reason and it had nothing to do with this little girl nor did it dictate hair style when looked at in proper context.

I wish the school would have just come out and stated their side. There is no court case as I know of, so they are under no gag order. The grand parents (legal guardians) have gone public with details of their own so that seems to mean it's OK for the school to go public with their side instead of just hinting that the parents are lieing. I don't know whether they should or not, but their refusal kind of looks more like an excuse to not expose a weak argument on their side rather than a desire to protect the girls and families privacy on this issue, which the family itself has already made public anyway. I'm just wondering if this is another example of fighting fundamentalists using this little girl as a convenient excuse to promote their legalism?

As for the bible having the answers we seek God has given us the key.....

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

I'd like to share a story something that happened to me in 1973.. One rainy night you know the kind of rain where you can't see your front yard for the rain pouring over the gutters.. well this one night i was preparing to attend a church I'd never been to before.. i used to carry an umbrella with me at all times because we have rain 98% of the year.. but this night I'd forgotten my umbrella at a friends house.. Oops'! After getting out of the tub the rain was coming down harder and the walk to church was a mile and 1/2 away so i began to pray.. Lord if you want me at that church meeting please stop the rain i ask this in Jesus name, and that's when it happened.. a huge bolt of lightening came crashing down right outside my window then an immediate clap of thunder.. the rain stopped not even one last drip.. i was so excited i threw on my clothes and ran that mile and 1/2 only to find it was a Church of Christ and they didn't believe miracles were for today.. O.k. :topic

One member did believe me and in the following 3 months 6 souls came to Christ and i believe its because of my faith in God and listening to him when He speaks..

Shame on them for picking on that little girl ,I bet she has a huge heart thats the part God judges, also the word sexually should never be used in the same sentence with little girl or boy,my best friend from age 5 to 9 was told she was a whore to this day she still has to fight that in her head just awful

Little girls and innocent looks don't equate to a righteous heart..

*edit: Lets see what God has to say about the human condition beginning with the young..

Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

I've read over the article again and for the life of me can't see any indication that this girl did anything wrong. I think to insinuate that she (especially at her young age) is a lesbian, rapist, "sodomite", rebelling against God, or any of the other horrible insinuations that have been made has no basis in any of the actual evidence in the information that we have so far on this case.

so I go back and look at the first post in this thread i notice the article is from MSN the truth/fairness of the article is now in doubt.... This may be a beginning of a law suit. Her guardians may really believe what they are reported as saying... the article is one sided.

I hate that. she may be a tomboy and just like her hair have other issues. sterotyping male and female looks and actions and those that break them isn't the way.

Her grandmother may have liked her hair that way, it is easier to wash and comb. And the haircut being shorter may mean a longer time between haircuts.

when I leave the military that is why my hair will remain short or bald.
