Kim Kardashian sums up everything that is wrong with society, headmistress says

The model Kim Kardashian's title as the "hottest woman in the world" in a men's magazine sums up "almost everything that is wrong with Western societyâ€, according to a leading private school headmistress.

Dr Helen Wright, headmistress of St Mary’s Calne, a girls boarding school in Wiltshire, will tell an education conference this week that the US reality TV star is part of a culture which sexualises women at an early age.
This culture, which is rife on TV, the internet and in magazines, sends the message that physical appearance is more important than character, according to Dr Wright.

She will say: “I have spoken out a lot over the last two years about the increasing dangers of premature sexualisation of young people, and the objectification of women which accompanies this.

“It is not too strong a statement, I venture to suggest, to say that almost everything that is wrong with Western society today can be summed up in that one symbolic photo of Miss Kim Kardashian on the front of Zoo magazine.

“The descent of Western civilisation can practically be read into every curve (of which, you will note, there are indeed many). Officially the hottest woman in the world? Really? Is this what we want our young people to aim for? Is this what success should mean to them?†Dr Wright will say.

Kim on the May issue of Zoo Magazine. She will claim that Ms Kardashian is famous for "the reality TV series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, for hanging out with the rich and famous, for a sex tape, a 72-day marriage and a rather ample backsideâ€.

"What is she telling our young people about life? As a society, we have clearly attached a value to her, and there may be some messages about hard work buried in there somewhere - I expect she has to slave in the gym to keep that posterior in shape - but these are very hidden messages, buried under the other messages surrounded by glitz and sparkle," Dr Wright will say.

Ms Kardashian, whose father is the late Robert Kardashian, one of the defence lawyers in OJ Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, shot to prominence when an erotic film of her appeared online in 2007. She has since gone on to become a household name on both sides of the Atlantic.

However people’s obsession with celebrities such as Ms Kardashian means that pupils are “soaking up a diet of empty celebrity and superficialityâ€, Dr Wright will say.
She will be speaking at the Institute of Development Professionals in Education (IDPE) conference later this week.

I don't know...

First of all, "sexualization at an early age"... Dr. Wright certainly could have picked a better subject for her discussion than Kim Kardashian who is 32 years old.

Besides.... being voted "hottest woman" by a men's magazine is hardly the same as... oh, say... voted person of the year by Time Magazine. Truth is, there will always be sexy young ladies that are going to get a lot of media attention. This has been true even as far back as Lillie Langtry (circa 1885) or Clara Bow (1920's). Pop culture fluff will always have it's cheesecake.

If Dr. Wright wants to be taken more seriously, she should probably select someone who truly personifies our society's over- sexualition of children and the idea that for a woman to be beautiful she must not be a woman at all, but rather an underweight pre-pubesent girl.

I'm talking models like this poor little thing who is, believe or not, only 10 years old.

When little girls are portrayed like this it not only sends the wrong message to little girls, it demeans women who look like... women.

In a way... although there is absolutely nothing about any Kardashian's morals that I would want Viola to emulate... one thing I do appreciate about the Kardashians is that they are NOT ultra skinny or under age, but rather fully mature and actually curvacious women.

Now why would people let their child take a picture like that. Perverts will drool and foam at the mouth looking at that picture with kidnapping her on their minds.

I agree. Our media does nothing but promote a vapid and superficial worldview that wreaks havoc on a young person's mind.

It is easy to blame the media, but simply put, you are the consumer. The media is only a reflection of what America wants. Why did they make so many bad spider man movies? Because people paid to see it! Media is a business and they cater to what sells. Things only sell because you buy it. If America wanted more family oriented shows displaying morals and responsibility then the media would make the product.

It is easy to blame aggressive pigeons, but people are feeding them! <-- mediocre analogy

That is such an awful show, and it always gets me angry when I see little snippets of it.

I agree, And as for the OP, I would say that the media is definately not reflecting Christian Morals. As our last poster pointed out, The media reflects the population. This just recalls to us what we already know. We are on the wrong side of Christ. Someone famous for a sex tape reflects how ridiculous this problem really is. Because they only way this would arise as popular would be if people were always watching it to bring it up there.

I do think Kim is a very beautiful woman. But she sums up while I hate my own generation of women. Rude, superficial, judgmental, are just some of the things.

OMG, I never knew there was such a show on tv. I just googled it and this was the first video result.

I think I'm going to spend the night praying for the world to end after seeing this. :pray

i prefer kim kardashian because she isnt trying to be a stick. she has curves and she likes them very different from the other stars who look like a bag of bones.

Something I've learned over the years is that all those flashy chicks are sick in the head. Almost without exception they have what's known as a "Cluster-B" personality disorder

https://www.google.com/search?sugex...e&ie=UTF-8&q="Cluster-B"+personality+disorder

Borderline - Histrionic - Narcissistic - Avoidant

The only thing you can count on them for is they will let you down. They are attention seeking, self centered, and they totally lack empathy. They almost never change because they think they are perfect.

I know they look "hot" especially to a young man, but as an old guy that has seen a lot, I can assure you they leave nothing but wreckage in their wake.
