Kindergarten math

Well if they know the multiplication tables and can figure sq roots. Are they really doing this in kindergarten somewhere? A gifted program maybe?
 
The answer is 5, but they sure don't do that math in kindergarten in my school.
 
Thanks Classik Jake (grandson) and I just made a whole lesson from your diagram. With toothpicks we laid forms for a foundation for a man cave gaming room using the formula to make sure our foundation was square. We wouldn't want high winds and gravity to topple his game room over. That got his attention! :lol

They tried teach me that rubbish at school, its not like I wanted to be a phyicist or engineer and would even need to know this type of stuff. I still don't and I'm 36.

The answer is I have no idea.

That's what they teach. What a joke. They need teach real life skills not what is the value of x on paper. The only value I know of 'x' is 'spot x' where we land fish all day.

This is real math, life skills, technique, and hands on experience, and food on the table all in one.
