Growth King and a Kingdom or it's about Him not His name

His covenant with the Children of Israel He had made conditional ...

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

In Exodus 19:5 God told the Hebrew people, " Now therefore if ye will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine." The condition that you mentioned is to obey and keep the covenant.

It is also stated in that same chapter in verse 6, " And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation." These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel." As I understand, unless you are part of Israel the promised kingdom of priest doesn't include the Gentiles or the Church. There are those that teach that the Church replaced Israel as the promised kingdom, but I don't see that taught in scripture. I do see a earthly people and a heavenly people taught in the covenant with Abraham.

1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Do you agree we are all one in Him?
Gal_3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

I do not abide in replacement theology... Abraham did not replace Noah,,, King David did not replace Moses....Paul did not replace Samuel. I believe God has a people has always had a people and will always have a people...

To whom was Peter written? In verse 1 says that it is written to "the strangers scatter throughout" and then list several regions and countries. We get a better understanding of who was scattered abroad from James 1:1 " James a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greetings". These epistles were written to a Jewish audience.

Not trying to be a "smart aleck", but I am not part of "the 12 tribes scattered abroad.
Deuteronomy 4:27 " And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you."
Deuteronomy 28:64 " And the LORD shall scatter you among all the people, from one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou no thy fathers have known, even wood and stone."
Zechariah 7:14 " But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through, nor returned: for they laid the pleasant desolate."

It is God chosen people that are "the scattered abroad" not the Gentiles.

I do agree that we are all one in Christ as his body, but that has only been true since the establishment of the "Church", the body of Christ.

dirtfarmer I do not see/understand your reasoning for different gospels

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

My only reasoning for different gospels is because it is scriptural. Do a study of the different gospels presented in scripture. Grace Ambassadors- the many gospels of the bible- is revealing.

You dont believe those scripture are written to you? What else of the Bible do you choose not to accept as for you?

I don't believe you are trying to be a smart aleck at all .. We are just discussing different views of Scripture...

I see the Gospel of Jesus Christ ... you see something else we differ.

Any time we read a book or watch a video ... the author has written them to impress us to come to the conclusion the author desires. from Winnie the Pooh ...to .. Pilgrims Progress

If you are talking about 1 Peter and 2 Peter, I don't believe that you can find church doctrine in them, but they can be used for correction reproof, and instructions in righteousness. We are told by Paul in his epistles that we are not to strive, but to be gentile, apt to teach. There are those that argue, make judgment of others and call them names, which shouldn't happen. Paul in 2 Timothy that we are to instruct those that oppose themselves.

hello reba, dirtfarmer here

I am not sure that all authors are trying to impress. I believe that some are encouraging us to look at truths from a different perspective or maybe from a deeper understanding that they have come to see. This I find more prevalent concerning scripture, but there are those that are trying to make their doctrine truth. That is the reason we should never take what a person teaches, ever pastors, without comparing scripture with scripture to make sure they are truth.

If Christs Kingdom is here and now, then why did the disciples believe it was still yet to come?

I believe we are apart of His kingdom, in faith, but I don't see that the kingdom to come has already come - as in we are ruling and reigning.

I don't see the true kingdom as coming till the end of this world. Are we speaking here of just a spiritual kingdom or both here and now?

So here is a question. Is the power in the name of Jesus Christ or is the power in the Kingdom of God of which Jesus Christ is the king?

We know the Kingdom of God has power, and I believe that God and His Kingdom might give assistance to those trying to glorify Jesus Christ the King, but as seen with the man and his seven sons, it might be a dangerous thing to just assume that because you say you do something in the name of Christ that you will have the power of the Kingdom behind you. Better to get your personal instructions from our Lord Jesus Christ and believe He will watch over you while you do what He has asked you.
the power is of Christ but when we as Christians bind together in his name as THE KINGDOM. MORE POWER IS ADDED

Just a spiritual kingdom?
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

This is His Kingdom according to Scripture
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Jesus is priest now.

Romans 8:34, " Who is he that condemneth? It is Jesus that died, yea rather, that is risen again, Who is even at the right hand of God, who maketh intercession for us". Does a king make intercession and to whom would he make intercession. Jesus is now in his priestly role. That is why he is interceding on our behalf. When the earthly kingdom is established Jesus Christ will fill the office of King and we, the bride of Christ, will be in the position to rein with him as his bride as co-heirs.
he is THE priest

he is THE priest

hello ezra, dirtfarmer here

He is the only priest. The priest of the old testament were shadows of the true priest that was to come. The offerings of the old testament priest could never give the sinners conscience perfection. They had to offer every year a sacrifice in order for God to Passover their sin.

Hebrews 9:9 " Which was a figure for the time present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience.

We are told to not lean on our own understanding! It's not that we don't have an understanding, nor that we don't need understanding, but it is not our understanding we are looking for. We are looking for God's understanding, which is certainly helped by reading the Scriptures, but it is also explained in the Scriptures that it is not us the Spirit of God that has the correct understanding.

Luke 12:31, 32 But seek for His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly you give you the kingdom.

So the kingdom is something you seek for. As previous pointed out, Jesus explained to Pilot that His kingdom is not of this world, and if it was there would be those that would be fighting for Him at that time. We read in many places about His angels and that they are ministering spirits, (Heb 1:14) And we also know this kingdom is in our midst. So we should realize we have a King (Jesus Christ) and He has a kingdom that if sought can be found. So we can find it and if we have indeed found the King and His kingdom we certainly should have an awareness of all this. And if found and are now under the King, getting instructions and understanding from Him and His ministering angels, then are we not now a part of it. And if we can talk to the King are we not now interceding as a nation of priests and part of that Kingdom. But if unaware of that Kingdom, how does anyone say they are a part of it. Perhaps they could say "As I understand" meaning they have read the Bible and have an understanding of it, and perhaps they have also been reading the teachings of other men who have done the same as them. But that is all leaning on our own understanding.

Prov 7:4 Say to Wisdom, "You are my sister", and call understanding your intimate friend

We know that the Spirit has wisdom, but do we listen. And we sing a song that goes, "What a friend we have in Jesus", but do we really know Him and listen to what our King says?

He once told me, "Karl, they call me 'Wonderful Counselor', but I am not a wonderful counselor to those that don't listen to Me."

Now as I understanding it, from conversations I have heard with my spiritual ears, there is this wonderful King in the heaven who has a heavenly kingdom of which I seek, find, and have become a part of as a result. And they (the King and His kingdom) are wiser than men.

hello K2CHRIST, dirtfarmer here

I will not continue to discuss(argue) about the kingdom of Christ.

Here is my belief: I am an heir and joint-heir with Christ and will rule and reign with him in his kingdom, not as a subject, but as his bride. Now I am espoused to him(Christ) but when he concludes this world that is ruled by the devil and he(the devil) has been removed. I will be his bride and rule over his earthly kingdom that was promised to his people, Israel.

While I will agree that Christ is to be king, but he is not "king" to the Church, he is bridegroom to the church.

All the scriptures you have posted are true in their proper context, but when you take them out of context, all you get is confusion and God is not the author of confusion.

Going back to this verse: Luke 12:31, 32 But seek for His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly you give you the kingdom.

I underlined a part "Do not be afraid." Why is that there? There is something about seeking His kingdom that cause people to fear. Maybe we are afraid we will not get the kingdom? Maybe He is just talking about us being anxious about the things of this world? Whatever, but there is some aspect of fear that we have to get over when seeking His kingdom.

The angels that serve the Lord are not the only spirits out there. We are told to test the spirits. But if told to test, then there must be good and evil spirits out there. Never-the-less we are told to seek.

So often I see Christians that don't seem to seek God's heavenly kingdom because they seem to fear that if they hear from a spirit it will be a evil spirit or demon. That is not being afraid of God that is being afraid of Satan and those under him. It's not that it isn't wise to test the spirits but it is unwise to fear and be anxious because of the presence of evil around us also. Our faith has to be in God, that He is still in charge and on the throne. That He indeed has a kingdom of which there are more with us than against us. If we truly believe that then the only logical conclusion is to indeed seek out the Kingdom of God, for advice, instruction, wisdom, and understanding. And it is written that if you seek you will find. Thus, if we havn't actually found that Kingdom of God, then how much are we seeking it? And if not seeking after the Kingdom of God of which the King is supposed to be our Lord, are we not now leaning on our own understanding, and that perhaps because we are afraid of Satan and not the wrath of God which will fall on those that don't believe the He really does exist as King of the Kingdom that is in our midst!

There is not argument about that. He is King of kings and Lord of lords, and He is also my friend. He calls me His friend, which amazes me, because I am not much, Just a lowly old human, and not close to as wise and smart as the angels in heaven and they are not close to being as wise as God (Father, Son, or Spirit). It's just different levels of intelligence. So you'd think we would seek the Kingdom of God?
