King David – A Blueprint of a Messiah

The story of King David is a biblical blueprint of our messiah Jesus Christ. There are three essential parts of King David's story that mirror the story of Jesus Christ. In all three parts the goal is to defeat the evil that exists because of the knowledge of good and evil that mankind obtained from Adam and Eve's sin in the garden of Eden. While King David was able to defeat Evil in the first two parts of his life he was unable to defeat the Evil in the last part, whereas Jesus Christ defeated Evil in all three parts of his life.

King David's life consisted of three parts, as did Jesus Christ's life. The first part of King David's life was the defeat of the giant Goliath. Here the giant Goliath represents all evil coming at us from outside our life, especially from Satan. For Jesus Christ the giant Goliath was Satan himself. Satan was the evil from outside coming to tempt Jesus Christ in the desert in the hope of conquering Jesus Christ.

The second part of King David's life was defeating an evil authority that existed from inside our own life as exemplified by King Saul who was constantly trying to kill David because of Saul's own vanity and jealously. In Jesus Christ's life the temple priests and religious leaders were constantly trying to kill Jesus Christ because of their own religious vanity and jealously.

The third part of King David's life was defeating the evil inside David himself when he was tempted by Bathsheba on the rooftop when he was King. King David could not defeat the evil inside himself whereas Jesus Christ did defeat the evil that was placed inside him on the cross. Jesus Christ took upon himself ALL of mankind's sin on the cross therefore having all of mankind's evil poured into him...and he defeated it!

So the three aspects of King David's life in defeating evil mirrors Jesus Christ defeat of Evil on the cross. One has to say that in regards to defeating evil King David's life is a blueprint of our Messiah Jesus Christ.

First Jesus Christ defeated the evil from an 'outside authority' when he resisted the temptations of Satan in the desert. Then Jesus Christ defeated the Evil from an 'inside authority' when he resisted the evil demands of both an evil religious, and evil governmental authority. Then Jesus Christ resisted the evil that was placed under his 'own authority' when he resisted the evil brought to him by having having all of mankind's sin placed in him when he hung on the cross.

People today believe that our reward in heaven will consist of how many ritualistic religious behaviors we copy from one another down here on earth. In actuality, our reward will be based on how we defeat evil in our own lives. Evil will come to us from outside like the giant Goliath. Or evil will come to us from inside like peer pressure from governmental, religious, business, or social encounters. Or evil will come to us from deep inside our own flesh as our very own lusts and desires. In all cases we need to turn to Jesus Christ to help us defeat evil as Jesus Christ defeated evil in all three cases. While King David showed his humanity in only defeating two of the three major occurrences of evil in his life, Jesus Christ as God's son – God become man - defeated evil in all three occurrences of evil.

When Evil arrives in your life turn to Jesus Christ for help. If you haven't experienced the guiding power of Jesus Christ's presence in your life to defeat evil then just believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross and ask for the indwelling Holy Spirit to help you in your own personal battle with evil. Your reward for fighting evil down here in this world will be life everlasting in heaven wearing a crown of glory.

God Bless

Through Gods grace He has given us His power and authority through His Holy Spirit that we be more than conquerors so we can overcome the evil that tries to come against us as it is no longer I that liveth, but Christ who lives in me, Galatians 2:20.

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
