Lack of total commitment

Hi everyone,

I am burdened to spread my convictions. I believe both Catholic and Protestant Christian communities are lacking in total commitment to Jesus. As a result it is causing all kinds of disasters and inconsistant (hopocritical) practices. I would like to list them. (All of the things I mention are not necessarity in order of importance.)

l. Most pastors are not telling the whole truth about Jesus' teachings and messages. So we have many churchgoers believing they are saved without knowing what it takes to be His servants.

2. Mtt l8:l5-l7 If your brother sins aginst you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won you brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two other along, so that evey mattter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or tax collector.

I don't believe this has been practiced by most churches.

3. Pasotrs and churches don't talk about the seriousness of marriage vows.

4. Pastors give marriage ceremonies without knowing the couple to see if they are serious Christians or not. When we get married, both parties should be committed Christians.

5. Superficiality. Most congregations do not know each other in perosnal bases, and pastors and leaders don't know how to help members when they need spiritual or emotional help. They just say they pray for them.

6. Loving: According to conventiona pastors or churches,
You are loving if you know how to be superficially friendly.
You are loving as long as you don't talk about obedience.
You are loving if you don't say anything that will make anyone feel guilty, offended or uncomfortable.
You are loving if you can talk softly.

7. "God knows our hearts, so we don't have to obey Him, obeying Jesus' commands is legalism", says the conventional churches.

8. The pastors are striving so hard to keep their members to their churches instead of to God.

9. If pastors preach the whole messages of His commands and teachings, the churches loses the most of the member because most churchgoers are not interested in following His teachings. So the churches gives half truth messages.

10. Social clubs: We are suppposed to be servants for the Lord but most of us are seeking comfortable churches and are treating churches like social clubs.

ll. True servants of God can not make a living as pastors in a free countries because most of us are not seeking to be true to Him.

12. Most of us study the Bible for our own selfish disires; not for the work for the Lord.

13. Most pastors are seeking popularity rather than being obedient to Him at Jesus' expense.

14. Jesus wants us to be salt and light in the world, yet most of us are not any different from non-believers.

15. Jesus hates hypocricy and lukewarmness, and we should be warned about it. But those words are almost inhibited to use in the Christian communities.

16. Evanbgelism is supposed to be our main focus as Christians. Yet we don't have the heart of reaching out to the lost souls.

17. Jesus lived humbly. In free countries, our way of living is as materialistic as non-believers. So we can not be as good helper as we can be, even though we are so wealthy.

18. Another heavy admonition from the Lord that most pastors ignore to preach: Matt7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdome of heaven,..."

19. Matt 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.": It seems that most pastors fit in this category.

20. Some pastors preach the right messages but they have no idea if their members are paying attention to them.

21. Matt 7:14 "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life., and only a few find it.": Most of us churchegoers fit in this category, following the wide gate.

22. Without wholehearted commitment, we are guilding a castle on sand.

23. The cost of following Jesus: "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has no place to lay His head."...Following Jesus is nothing like the comfortable church life.

24. Matt 9:37 "The havest is plentiful but the workders are few."...I have been to my own country to evangelize but I found out about persecuted Christians in need. Then I switched my support to persecuted brethren instead.

25. Matt l3:l3 "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand." If we are not totally committd, no matter how much we study the Bible, we are unable to use our knowledge for the Lord.

26. Matt l9:24 "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kindgom of God."...

Most of us don't seem to realize that we are rich comparing to other countries. According to Jesus, most of us churchgoers won't enter the kingdom of God.

27. Matt 21:28-31 "There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, "Son, go and work today in the vineyard.' 'I will not,' but later he changed his mind and went. Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, 'I will, sir,' but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted?"

Aren't most of us churchgoers like the other son who says'yes' to the Lord but do not do it?

28. Matt 25:41-43 "Then He will say to those on His left, 'depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the divil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite Me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe Me, I was sick in prison and you did not look after Me.'...

We have many persecuted brethren who can use our help but we are not giving them enough support. We are too busy to live for Christ.

29. Jesus commands us in Matt 28:l9-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

This command is one of the most important missions Jesus has for us followers to do. And most of us are not obeying.

30. Jesus says in the Luke 13:6-9 "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't
found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' "Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'"

Jesus will cut us down if we dont't bear fruit. This is warning for OSAS supporters.

31. Luke 13:24-27 "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.' "But He will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.' "Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with You, and You taught in our streets.' "But He will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'"...

If we are not totaly commited to Him, He will call us evildoers.

32. Acts 4:32 "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possession was his own, but they shared everything they had."

I wonder how many of us churchgoers are willing to do the same thing what the early Christins did?

33. Romans 11:22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in His kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

This verse seems to be another warning for OSAS supporters.

34. l Cor 5:12 "What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. 'Expel the wicked man from among you.'"

Paul admonishes us to judge each other for edification and improving our spiritual lives. Why are we closing our eyes on wrong doings? When are we going to be good enough to do it? Arn't we drinking milk forever?

The desire for an easy religion captivates people.

They ignore the warnings....of scripture, regarding the many conditions upon which heaven is to be obtained.

The Bible NEVER mentions anyone, just skating into heaven.

You're not the first person on a Christian forum who has brought forward this message. I believe we are going to see an upsurge in real Christians who live their life for Jesus. The difference between lukewarm Christians and true Christians is going to be made apparent over the next few years.

Are you doing anything about it? I believe we can if we want to. Most of us don't want to.
