" Indonesia’s hard-line Muslims are promising to block American singer Lady Gaga from taking to the stage during a scheduled June 3 performance in Jakarta. Among their many complaints are that the pop diva is a danger to children.

In threatening to mobilize 30,000 people, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) also described the hottest artist in contemporary music as vulgar, very dangerous and argued that her sense of dress were threatening to a child’s sense of morality.

About 25,000 concert tickets have already been sold and threats to intercept Lady Gaga at the airport have sparked an angry backlash on social media from her fans, known as Little Monsters.

So far, her tour –the Born This Way Ball – of Asia, Australia and New Zealand has prompted small protests from Christian groups in South Korea and the Philippines, but Lady Gaga has stuck to her mantra and refused to tone down her provocative performances.

A spokesperson for the FPI went so far as to tell reporters: “Lady Gaga insults all religions. Even Christians in Korea opposed her. She is promoting the worship of Satan.”

Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga hasn’t included Malaysia on her global tour. Over there, Islamic hot heads with grievances over Western art forms have been even more tyrannical in demanding others conform to their sense of piety, with the government often acceding to their whims.

In 2006, a concert by a Norwegian black metal band was banned after officials took a dislike to their slogan “Bringing hell to your doorstep,” which was interpreted as a type of satanic worship. Other acts to feel the branding iron of intimidating Malaysian officials include Madonna, Brittany Spears, The Black Eyed Peas, and Enrique Iglesias.

More than 45 songs have been censored or banned in Malaysia since 2010, among them seven songs from Lady Gaga herself, including her worldwide hit Bad Romance."

I agree, Christians should defend morality, but Islam presents no positive example whatever. I don't want Christians beheading unbelievers, or stoning gays to death, or killing young girls to preserve family "honor."

Meh. It seems that this group thinks their children are to weak minded and are unable to think critically. Its like I said in other threads. Banning Lady Gaga from performing won't change anything. These groups don't want their children to hear her message, the problem is that unless the kids hear the message and then are explained why the parents disagree with it, the kids won't learn anything.

The way a person is enticed is to see the thing or hear about the thing and from this exposure, temptation is birthed.
After all, you are not going to want what you've never seen or heard , or heard about.

For example, had you never heard the Gospel, had you never been exposed to the idea of receiving Christ, then you would not have known what to do.

So, it is with Lady Gaga, or pornography or any sinful attraction this world continually offers.
Dont expose yourself and you wont have any issue with it.

The bible says to FLEE IT, it does not say to, "give the kids a look" so that the seed of this looking and association can tempt them.

very true. In our day and age kids know a lot. What I grew up with in the 70's don't cut it now.

If I teach my kids to be free thinking outside of commercialised media, they can choose meanigful artists that feed their christian desires.

lady Gaga is a crappy musician who is not like people who stand for principals that uplift the listener and show them individuality and /or God. I want my children to know how to discern this . That will differentiate them from the sheep who feed on commercial music.

I think you are one of those people that thinks children are stupid. Children are easily influenced, but a parent should be able to reason with their own children. That is the role of parenting.

I think you are projecting your own opinions on to her. I doubt that is her reason. I think in one of her own songs she explained it pretty well. She is doing all this for attention, and she loves it.

Then it should be pointed out to you that Lady Gaga is not this person. Disagreeing with your opinions on Morality, lifestyle, moral absolutes, and sexual virtues dose not meant the person is void of them. That is a no-brainer. ;)

I do want to make it clear. I think its the rights of the parent and for the people who put on the shows to be able to choose whether or not they want people to see Lady Gaga. I'm just trying to show this from a different angle and showing how this is actually just a spectacle.
