I hope this isn't a sore subject for you guys, but whatever.

I listen to Lady Gaga's music just for the beats, as I do that for all the music I listen to. And for you guys to say she needs to seek mental health professional is wrong. She just wears these clothes as COSTUMES. I hope you guys know that. And I will listen to any and all music I want. And please don't spout bible verses at me because I know not to put anything bad in front of me. But I don't, and won't go out imitating what the lyrics say. So, there. I said my piece.

Lady Gaga makes good music. Some songs are great some are meh, but over all she does great stuff. The lyrics aren't that bad either. She is a great talent.
 
What you choose to listen to is your business. Personally to me lyrics are the most important thing, so I tend to shy away from lyrics that conflict with my morals.
But then the anime I watch would likely garner a lot of criticism from other Christians since it tends to have some (usually fairly mild) language and off color gags here and there, so I'm not one to point fingers. Although anime is essentially a cartoon, it's not really made for kids. At least a good deal of it isn't.

Yes she writes from the heart. That she wrote a song or two that you might not personally like or anyone might not personally like isn't any reason to not listen to the ones that you do.
 
so no one is offended by born that way nor judas,? and my wife listens to her. just this past Wednesday we listened her. i had no choice, when i do listen to her i do listen and analize lyrics.

i don't care for her, she can sing but i will not bother with those that take lightly things that matter to Christ.
 
I'm not familiar with her music, other than having heard a bit of it here and there. I know a lot of it, or at least some of the most popular songs, are sexual in nature.

Why would born this way be offensive. I haven't heard Judas so I can't speak to it. Born this way just mean don't hate yourself don't give in to bullies. That is a pretty good message.

Just read the lyrics to Judas. At first glance they are not profane. I don't know what message she is trying to convey particularly, but it doesn't seem offensive. Unless you find the name Judas offensive in and of its self.

born that way is reference to being gay. i am a former bisexual male, judas is a song about her loving the man who betrayed jesus. i have read the lyrics and watched the video. in the video its a mockery of the lord. she is riding with man who has a crown of thorns. what does a crown of thorns have to do with any modern myth or anything outside of jesus?

Yeah she was talking about lesbians and gays not hating themselves, and to not get down about being bullied. I don't see a problem with that.

I don't know much about today's music but singing, talking, whispering or otherwise is communication. And if that communication supports something against the Terms of Service then I strongly suggest that be taken into consideration before posting it here.
Suggesting listening to music with questionable lyrics is no different than suggesting a book that has content we disallow. Words are words no matter if sung, spoken, printed or whispered.

i wasn't going to post any video for i know that it would violate the tos. i have watched both videos of judas and born that way. btw that is the album and the only album that my wife has.
 
Not directed at you Jason but everybody.
What is posted is the poster's responsibility and will be held accountable for content. Nor will "art" be used here as a "get out of jail free" card or a license to post anything someone wants in the name of art. What people hide behind beyond this private forum is their business. This is a Christian forum. People come here apart from what's going on "out there" and the staff is compelled to provide that environment within the confines of this board.
 
While I don't condone sin, I do appreciate her ability to create a catchy tune.
 
All I was doing once again was saying that I am not going to be told what to listen to and NOT listen to. You guys really have changed me. But that's for another thread I will create.
