Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.

Such an pertinent issue and so often approached from the window on the back of the building. You already know my position here and I'll wait to see what develops. Good thread Chopper.I believe that in light of the Scriptures that it is God's will to heal physical diseases. Question, "All the time?
As an opening verse of Scripture that I feel we should focus on is:
1John 5:14 "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 5:15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him." (ESV)
My first Scripture that I feel is an answer to our thread is:
Luke 5:12 While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean." 5:13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be clean." And immediately the leprosy left him.
As we can see, it is the will of God to heal. What do you think?

The Spirit lead me to this:
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
I know when I was at my lowest point physically and mentally, he showed me his grace.
I believe that is true.I do not think everyone is going to be healed.I believe their mental or physical illness is being used for God's grace and God has a special plan for that person.Sometimes people get angry at God or even leave Him because they are not healed. There is a reason for everything that happens and God does not make mistakes. We will find out why when we get to heaven and we may say "Oh ya...that makes total sense".I believe that in light of the Scriptures that it is God's will to heal physical diseases. Good point Brother Mike. So from what you just said, I gather that if a person does not get healed, God is willing, but man either doesn't know how to appropriate healing or just doesn't believe it's God's will to heal because he says in his heart "If it's God's will, I'll be healed." Is that right?

Here is what i got about a week ago from praying....quoting that verse above, but put the meaning for grace in it instead of the word grace and it goes like this.......three times i pleaded with the Lord to take it from me. But He said to me that my overwhelming desire to treat you as if sin never happened or unmerrited favor (grace) is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness, therefore i will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest upon me.
In our own strength we can do nothing (even Jesus said this), but with the Father who dwells within us, doing the works...He gets the glory which is how it should be. That is why Paul boasts in His weaknesses, because it was not him doing the Works, but the Holy Spirit working through Paul. Thus keeping Paul from having a spirit of Pride, which is what God wants to keep us all from. Everything that we do is not about us, but about our Loving Father, who decided to work through us to do whatever it is that He wants done. Then the wonderful thing is that we get the credit for being obedient.

What about praying for someone elses healing? ....
Okay, I haven't been healed.
So now, go ahead and tell me I don't have enough faith to believe that God will heal me.
Mike,God's grace is amazing. I am still learning to trust in it more.
Paul however was giving us a lesson on What not to do. Paul was not asking for healing. He wanted the Lord to remove that messenger who was opposing him and stiring the people up against him.
