Let's Talk Yankees

Did you know we are not quite out of the play-offs yet? There may be some huge ifs involved, but until it's impossible, I'm not going to say it's over.

The last day of the season ended with mix results. Mike Mussina won his 20th game in the first game of the double header, it was his first 20 win season of his amazing career. However, we lost the second game of the double header and fall a win shy of 90 wins for the season. It was a rough year, but I can't wait to see all the moves made this off season.

Step one complete. We resigned our GM Brian Cashman. He's been our GM through most of our past success, so it's good to know he's coming back.

Abreu has filed for free agency. I think we should try and keep him. That would be awesome because he is a consistent player for the most part and he doesn't have the Ego of Arod or Giambi.

The Yanks picked up 1B/OF Nick Swisher from the White Sox today in exchange for Betemit and two minor leaguers. We also received a pitching Texeira in the deal.

Add another Yankee to the Hall of fame. The former New York Yankee 2nd baseman, Joe Gordon was elected by the veterans committee to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Reports are claiming that CC Sabathia is going to be a Yankee! Even if he drops a bit, he'll still be a vast improvement on Sidney Ponson and Darrell Rasner. With the potential of adding Ben Sheets, Derek Lowe, and A.J Burnett, the Yankees could boast the best Pitching Rotation on Paper. Let's hope the paper converts to reality.

Yankees fans have more to be excited about as we just landed A.J. Burnett today. The starting rotation could look something like, Sabathia, Wang, Burnett, Chamberlin, and (Pettite,Lowe,Sheets) or we could have so much talent we'll go to a six man rotation. Now that would be pretty cool.

In a smaller bit of news, the yankess signed 2003 Rookie of the Year Angel Berroa to a minor league deal. His offense has declined since a stellar 2003. However, one never knows what a player will do in Pinestripes.

Andy Pettite will return to the Yankee's this season. This should mean the starting five for this season are C.C. Sabathia, A.J. Burnett, Chien Ming Wang, Andy Pettite and Joba Chamberlin. I think that is a pretty dangerous starting 5.

Anyone else been following spring training? I'm Glad we're finally seeing some life from Igawa. It is too bad we probably will not be able to put his talent to use.

Im really a Mariners fan even though they are horrible most of the time, but if I picked another team have to say the Yankees, I don't care how much money they are paid good for them. :)

The Yanks have had an okay april, but we could really use some consistent pitching.

Oh I have to believe they will do well in the end, they always do. They always seem to take it to us when it counts, (mariners) lol oh well.

I'm glad that there is one person who is not going to bach them on the grounds of money. Damon has been on fire for them this weekend. I can't wait untiul we have our whole team healthy again.
