Sorry to turn this into a blog, lol. I'm excited...I should get a Pell grant and help from parents w/ books. The rest will (sigh) have to covered with loans. But, hey; when I graduate, I'll still have less loan debt than your typical American student. Yes! (Seriously, I'm happy about that).

Anyway, I was stressing out because my GPA was lowered post-ECT (not surprising, right?), and then God healed me. I went through this moments of wondering if/when I could get in, etc.

Liberty called me! They have excellent student support, or so it seems at this point. At worst, I'll have to take some classes known for building the GPA my first 15ish hours, plus a skills building class. Could be so, so much worse.

I don't deserve the grace I've been shown. When I was at Teen Challenge, they always reminded us: grace is unmerited favor. They also reminded us that we serve the God of "yet another chance." I believe both to be true. So, with that in mind, I have a made up mind to make good of the grace shown me and this opportunity to excel at Liberty. Its yet another day not promised me and 1 more opportunity to make forward progress with my new life in Christ Jesus.

Please pray that everything goes smoothly and that I can make good of what I've been given. I know I'll need to study (trust me, I look forward to it) and apply myself (trust me, I look forward to it).

I also need prayer for direction. Counseling people with alcohol and drug issues seems logical and seems like a good fit, but...sometimes I waver. Then again, I need *a* job, not a *perfect* job, so its time to get over my own issues and start hitting the books.

Thanks!

Thanks, Eugene. That's a much wiser prayer than what I've been saying ("Please let this happen!"). I just don't see any other way to get a good job, you know? I mean, I don't have any technical skills. I have minimal work experience. I think I'll need a degree in something if I'm going to support myself, ever.

You continue in my prayers, my friend.

The opportunity at Liberty U sounds quite promising. As you pray - as I am praying - know that our Lord answers by opening the doors of His choosing. Have total and complete faith in His knowing what is best for you.

As for the additional 15 hours or so of GPA-building classes, consider it as an easing into the university routine. Many of us oldies but goodies, upon returning to university, often take refresher courses to get into the swing of studying and understanding what professors require.

You are facing a great opportunity towards developing the skills for your future. Just don't overlook the daily reading/studying of Scripture!

Be blessed!

Will pray that it goes smoothly, and for God to give you the direction you need.

Your close CF.net friends are behind you with our prayers for success. In the psychology field, we need more Christians who are specifically trained in addiction bondage. It is a vast field, and sorely needed. There are psychologists who specialize in alcohol and drug addictions but very few who have spiritual warfare training for deliverance. The prior know the facts but lack the power for change, it's up to the patient to muster the determination to succeed. The latter have the spiritual tools from God thru the Counselor (Holy Spirit) to bring the patient to full deliverance to the praise and glory of Jesus the Christ.

So my friend, GO FOR IT! we need you in the field of psychology.
