I know, 25 isn't old. 30 isn't old. 40 is apparently "the new 30." I don't know if that's true, but it sells magazines.
Still...I'm 30. Looking back a bit, thinking about it, I think life does change at and then after 2-5. Like that 70s song...All the Young dudes or something...
What do y'all think? I'm kind of under the impression that after 25, time goes by faster. And if you're in and of the world, things stop being as much "fun." I read this quote today, from some old Hollywood move starlet..."Of course we had fun. Everything is fun when you're young." Sounds kind of bitter, but I think she was on to something. Or that John Melloncamp song about Jack and Diane..."long after the thrill of living is gone..."
I'm blessed. I got saved at 28, and it was mostly God's doing, not mine (maybe that's always the case?). Its strange...now that I'm more and more "in the world, but not of it," things seem...if not "fun," then more meaningful. Actually, there's more fun in my life, too.
What about y'all? I know we talk about how God shows grace to those who are under the age of reason (whatever that is....I'm not real clear on that concpet), but do you think He shows grace to those in their youth, as well? And do you think there's a point, an age, at which life changes in such a way that you can look and say "Why yes...not old, but not young, either." ?
Just thinking out loud, as always...
