Lila Rose and Live Action

I saw this last night on facebook......

I agree, there should be a ban on gender selective abortion, but how would such a ban be regulated?

Banning abortions outright would be a rather effective start. This just illustrates yet more problems with the right to kill your child for any reason you choose.

As much as I would love to see it, banning abortion outright isn't an option since Roe V Wade effectively granted the "right" to abortion. It wasn't right, it certainly wasn't "constitutional" but it sure was effective in granting a woman the right to terminate her pregnancy up to "viability"... and "viability" is something that is left to the states to decide.

Hopefully, in time, the Supreme Court "right to privacy" in the matter of abortion will go the way of the horrible "Dred Scott Decision." Dred Scott has never been overturned by the Supreme Court, but it has be effectively rendered moot by the 14th Amendment.

Until then... as long as abortion remains "safe and legal" (supposed to add rare there but that's a travesty, not a joke)... then aborting for gender selection is going to happen, and I'm not sure what can be done about it.

What? You don't believe rights are found in "penumbras and emanations?"

Nope. I sure don't.

By going along with that little ploy, the Supreme Court has effectively over-reached it's original purpose of a check and balance for the legislative branch and can more or less legislate from the bench.... which has been a problem for quite some time now, both on conservative and liberal issues.

Had the Justices remained as the Framers of the Constitution intended... perhaps bad laws would stand, but then the people could go back and work and get bad laws over-turned either through pressuring Congress or not voting for them next time.

Since the Justices are appointed and appointed for life, nonetheless, when they choose, through "penumbras and emanations", make legislate from the bench, they bypass the American people and all kinds of things that we should have the right to control through the voting process.

Abortion is just one of these issues. Gay marriage will soon be another...

and most likely since the church wont marry gays we will be like the kkk and banned from working. who would knowingly hire a racist?
