Little Old Lady and the Atheist

There was a little old lady, who every morning stepped onto her front porch, raised her arms to the sky, and shouted: 'PRAISE THE LORD!'

One day an atheist moved into the house next door. He became irritated at the little old lady.
Every morning he'd step onto his front porch after her and yell: 'THERE IS NO LORD!'
Time passed with the two of them carrying on this way every day.

One morning, in the middle of winter, the little old lady stepped onto her front porch and shouted: 'PRAISE THE LORD! Please Lord, I have no food and I am starving, provide for me, oh Lord!'

The next morning she stepped out onto her porch and there were two huge bags of groceries sitting there.

'PRAISE THE LORD!' she cried out. 'HE HAS PROVIDED GROCERIES FOR ME!'

The atheist neighbor jumped out of the hedges and shouted:
'THERE IS NO LORD; I BOUGHT THOSE GROCERIES!!'

The little old lady threw her arms into the air and shouted:

'PRAISE THE LORD!
HE HAS PROVIDED ME WITH GROCERIES AND MADE THE DEVIL PAY FOR THEM!'

I almost feel guilty for laughing at this one. Really do not see atheists as devils. Thank you for sharing Knerd.

Hi,

I enjoyed the sentament as well, but I don't have any guilt about making light of Athiest. There is scriptures that say that the Lord lays up treasures with the heathens to feed His beloved. That is not bad to then turn and say that the poor devil just doesn't know who or why he is. Romans 9, some are made unto destruction, but God who is all everything, turns things ment for evil into that which is good for His own.

The joke may not have had as much flair as it might of, but I think it's within the motions that God is doing in His Kingdom and life.

Oh, not nessisarily green pastures, but in the end, all things in all ways work together for good and we who are called of God get to see that good accomplished, that God is at work to have His good pleasures accomplished in us. Praise the Lord, indeed.

Someone told me once that there is something funny about everything. If we can not see the funniness of atheist being provided for as well as we, we then are cought in the devils game and less for knowing them but not being victors over them. It is laughable, the battle is the Lords, what in the world do they think they will occomplish. They are much more amitron than we might even know.

Can't we see that they think they are a fearsome force, because an apponet needs to think he can win to make a game of it all. Serious game to them to be made a bad joke instead of a good one. Romans 9 again, people appointed unto destruction. Hope though says who so ever willeth come unto me and I will in no wise cast off.

I never read an Atheist manifesto, but it does come to me just about every time I turn T.V. on. I just read Gods manifesto in Christ Jesus. It makes more sence to me to stay with the winner.

Yes, If you wanna know about the devil, just simply do nothing and he will fill your mind with the world that is destined for destruction. Our Hope is in Jesus Christ.

If you can get into a situation where you can actually talk with an atheist (rather than AT an atheist) and both of you can communicate in a non-defensive manner, ask the atheist to describe what god is like. Ask him open-ended questions about this god that he does not believe in.

You will be amazed at what he will tell you. And if you cannot understand his beliefs after he does so, then you will probably have little to offer him in the way of Christian love and acceptance.

It has been my experience that most atheists I have talked to believe in a sort of god that I wouldn't believe in either! And that fact gives you a chance to witness to him with strength, conviction and common sense.

Remember, none of us are born believing.
