Looking for a virgin wife to marry

Looking for a virgin wife to marry, a debate

Looking for a virgin wife to marry. That was one of our conversations in the past. One of us said: That's insane - there are no virgin girls these days. They went on to say, The true virgins are the underaged teenagers who are yet too young to get married or get biologically bonded ( one of us claimed: even the so-called I'm-innocent-young-ones cant be always trusted).

I was fighting hard to defend our young ones (males and females - that there still exists faithful virgins....0 to 30yrs of age and above). I lost the debate. I was mocked at. They said I was not of this planet. I was alien who knew nothing about the earth.

Points: (for both males and females)
*most women are divorced. They are no virgins anymore.
*majority of females 'want to belong' a phrase/term that describes a male/females indebt willingsness and hunger to lose his/her virginity and become normal man/woman.
*the rest are just children who know nothing about 'something'.

Etc.

I lost the debate. I was speechless. (I know they exist - but I couldn't win). But one question I managed to ask them: DO YOU TRUST YOUR OWN SISTERS?

Sounds like you need some statistics to help you out. Though you would have to consider between faithful virgins and virgins not by choice. Especially for guys. There must be some though. I am too scared to check statistics cause like you say I have younger sisters. I think society would consider the ones with very few partners the innocent ones. I think the bar has been lowered a long time ago. (by people not God)

13.9 percent of men, and 8.9 percent of women between the age of 25 and 45 have never had sex.

This is for america. They said those who went to church are 4 times more likely.

Well you figure the difference is that males have a harder time having sex when they want to. So such a large difference implies there are significant women with the same problem. Plus people with personality disorders where they don't want sex. Plus disabilities. So the percent of faithful virgins in the US is pretty low but there are a lot.

On dA, I've come across several stamps that say things like "Virgin and proud". (Stamps are like little shoutboxes where you can voice your opinion. Or whatever you want to, really. They can also serve as soapboxes. ;) )

We're not in the majority, but we do exist.

What about people that were non-believers until their mid-twenties or so and thus lived by the carnal ways of the world, but then start following Jesus and repent of their sexual sins of the past. Some people say that cases like that the forgiveness they receive from God would also restore their virginity.
Would those people count as virgins for those of you that look for a virgin wife/ husband?

That's a powerful question.

I can say that I know a couple of women who are virgins and I'm marrying one of them soon :)

This is wonderful. I am happy for the both of you. May the Lord bless your engagement, marriage and your obedience in this area of life.

It shouldn't be terribly important anyway.
Imagine you were dating a smart, attractive, god-fearing, football loving young lady who is very much in love with you, too. And then you learn she's not a virgin any more. Would you abandon that promising and otherwise perfect romance because of that virginity thing?

I'm hoping my fiance won't

Don't get hung up on whether a woman is a virgin or not. As a Christian the OT law does not apply, and no where in the NT does the Bible specifically say "do not have sex before marriage." You will not find a Greek or Hebrew word referencing that. Sexual immorality, yes, premarital sex, no. The idea that sexual immorality includes premarital sex is implied and assumed, but never actually dictated.

Someone else mentioned a restored virginity. Unless God truly "reversed" the process, it is impossible on a physcal level. Mentally and emotionally I would think it is possible. That is between you and God.

I am one of these.
When I got saved, I vowed to God never to have sex again until he gave me my wife.
For someone like me, every day was a challenge.
But when I asked my wife to marry me, I was able to say that since the day I got saved, I never touched another women.
And I was grateful for God and that he gave me the right person.
It took 3 years but I would have waited forever.

The book of Hosea is very instructive.

The prophet was being taught a spiritual lesson of just how patient God was with his erring people.
