This verse is on my heart tonight:

Matthew 7:21
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.

I remember seeing an Israeli kissing the wall of the temple that is still intact. Hey may love God intensely, but he is not saved. I am heartbroken for those who have their personal idea of God but aren't truly saved. For them, in the end, it will be devastating! They spend their lives loving God passionately, but still are lost without Christ. It makes me so sad!

Please join me in prayer, for God's people- the Israelis. And please pray for those who have a misconception of who God truly is to find Him and be saved.

The key is maybe in the previous chapter where the Lord Jesus teaches His disciples to pray: 'Thy will be done'!

Seeking to follow the will of God in Christ Jesus is very wholesome and helpful, spiritually.

Blessings.

Dear Sister Angel, it is sad indeed. Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Religion is the downfall of man and it is practiced fervently in many cases to no profit whatever. I think of the rich young man in Luke 18:18 that came to Jesus asking what he must do to inherit eternal life, and he was told to do the commandments. He said he had done so since birth, and Jesus didn’t correct him but advised he lacked yet one thing; follow Him.

There is always something lacking in self regardless of works that needs Jesus’ work on the cross applied. You wrote in another post “If God asked why he should let me in heaven I would say because of the blood of Christ covers me,” and that is right. You could kiss that Wailing Wall till you’re blue in the face and not be heard by God.

We must be born of God, there is none other name than that of Jesus given among men whereby we may be saved, and by grace it is available to all men.

God bless you in Jesus’ name.

Yeah I was thinking the same. The verse needs to be seen in context of the entire sermon on the mound and especially the previous and following verses where Jesus emphasises that we cannot enter heaven unless we strive to do his will, and his will he lays out to us in the whole sermon. Also it has to be seen in context with Jesus' warning of false prophets (who may use the name of the Lord excessively).
It's mostly a warning not to fool ourselves and others, or to get fooled, by religious outward behaviour.
From the context I don't think this verse is adressed at people who wholeheartedly love the Lord and attempt to do His will but in a non-christian religion. Although those may be lost none the less because they don't have the blood of Jesus covering their wrongdoings. So pryaing for the lost to be saved is a good idea either way.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." -Matthew 12:33-34

The condition of the heart is what God cares about, so if your outward manifestation is a reflection of what's on the inside, then what's inside determines whether you are saved or not. I pray that God can speak to people through their conscience, and even those that do not know can work for the will of God.

And when the believer does obey the Lord, then it is by grace (Ephesians 2.8), and by way of 'the obedience of faith' (Romans 1.5), in any case.

I too hold the Israelis in high regard, even though I see the truth of Matt 15:8. I will gladly join you in saying a prayer for them, that they would truly see Jesus and be saved!

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts on this subject. I love you guys!

I 100% disagree. Nonbelievers have the blood of Jesus to cover their wrongs as well. Jesus died for all sinners, not just Christians.

Do you believe in something along the lines of universal reconciliation?

Not at all. I believe that salvation is accessible to anyone no matter what their beliefs, but I don't believe everyone is saved, nor do I believe their own beliefs are what saves them.

Answering the Spirit's call. Accepting it in their heart and having faith in it. The acceptance is manifest in their actions...the fruit of the Spirit. People can be anonymous Christians. They proclaim Christ by living in him.

we aren't isrealis, but Hebrews. I am a Hebrew. as I told chopper pray for my dad, my aunt, my second cousins bill and david and their kids and Roy and any cranmans that isn't saved and also kline.

Sorry jason, didn't know how to properly define the nation. I will pray for your family.

I figured you didn't. its ok. we do use that term if we want to know if a Hebrew is an isreali citizen. but that will often come out as most jews who have gone there or live there will talk about isreal as being a land they love.

My prayers include all those who are not in truth brothers/sisters with Jesus, or sons/daughters of our Father our Lord God.

Please keep praying with me for those who are lost but think they are saved. It's on my heart a lot lately...
I watched a movie on Netflix about a Hebrew kid who had down syndrome, and he loves to pray. (His family was all Jewish too).
It is called Praying With Lior. If you (anyone) get a chance you should watch it.
