Love feast

Have a potluck at the church?
Well, I'll have to think about that one a bit.

:D

I believe a church has the liberty to decide the issue for themselves. Some may deem it ok while another doesn't. If you're a member of a church that does then you have the liberty to attend or not attend.
Our church (the building) isn't large enough anyway so we do picnics weather permitting. And yes, contributions are welcome but not required.
We've never had a shortage of food or fellowship. :)

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. [Let them] do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. - 1Tim 6:17-19

I see!!!:lol
Your username is very interesting, 'potluck'
pot luck = pot love = bring a pot of food and feed the lucky guests:lol

I love picnics too.

Many churches do love feast today. Should churches do love feats? Is it scriptural? Is it ok?

If it brings people together in the spirit and love of Christ, then yes, absolutely. IMO, this applies anywhere, inside and outside of church. It can even pertain to how you relate to non-Christians. If you have the love of Christ in your heart, you should try to spread that love as much as you can to anyone you think and feel would be receptive to it.

I have witnessed about 4 different occassions. They were done in the Spirit and Love of Christ (my observation).

That's why I was hoping someone with some historical information about the early church's love feasts would share, because the Bible doesn't explain what they were. As far as I know the only Biblical information about them is this reference Jude makes to them. But I had heard the historical background about them many years ago...I just don't recall what it was.
