Love their art but not the artist

Sting comes to mind. Some awesome songs like Fields of Gold and Roxanne. But the guy sounds supremely arrogant.
Bob Dylan. He is super grumpy. But how prolific his art! And the quality.
Blood on the Tracks and New Morning are such atmospheric albums. The soundtrack or part ...of my life

There is something to be said about separating the art from the artist. Lewis Carol is believed to have been a pedophile.....yet his famous works like Alice in Wonderland are still beloved and enjoyed all over the world.

I love Bob Dylan, he seems like such an interesting person. I wonder what he is doing right now during the pandemic, probably something so interesting. Those are my two most favorite Bob Dylan albums of all time.

Wow , so he has fans as young as you!
I like some of his quirky songs like that one on New Morning ;
"The locusts sang off in the distance,
Such a sweet melody"

I think what I'm getting at is I might have expectations of people I admire. I hope they are nice people as well.
But artists are often difficult people. Big egos and moody. Artistic temperament. I think I have some artistic temperament........minus the artistic talent. ?

Ok to tell you the truth, when it came out that Mick Jackson was fiddling with kids on his ranch, I was shocked and disappointed. I don't look at his music the same way. Ok I still love the song "man in the mirror"....,even though the lyrics ring hollow now.

" If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make the change".
He was so bloody talented though.

Andy Warhol. I still enjoy his 60s pop culture material. and yet...

-sigh- the summer after I squeaked out of HS, I got my friends together, and we bleached my hair with beauty supply stuff (note to everyone: do not let teenagers shop at beauty supply stores). and..

I got to skimming the warhol diaries, which...blah. -out of love- :-(

CS Lewis...probably because he became so popular with evangelicals, his personal life has been over-analzyed, examined. -shrug- I still like his work, just...I lean more towards the non-fiction, not the novels, etc.

I wont name the artist but i liked there music and went to there concert and then thought he was a idiot the way he acted, claiming he was like the best and original in that style of music and was a king.

Sting doesn't seem arrogant to me. Not any more than others like him....

But I digress. Sorry.
Can't think of anyone.

Of I do I'll be back!

I like your new avatar.
The other one was like Dylan.
Grumpy.

There's a profile in the "pool".

"Blood on the Tracks " one of my favorites too , songs I can hack out on guitar and sing kind of :) . " Slow Train Coming" and " Saved " are two others I enjoy , Mark Knopfler's playing on " Slow Train Coming " album is some of his best work . I got to see Dylan on that tour .
