What is loyalty? Should we be loyal to our fellow human beings?

Elijah23, per “Posting and Answering Post in Apologetics and Theology”: “When posting or answering post in this section, users are asked to state clearly what the theological subject is, and why it is true or not true.” Please restate your post to reflect this requirement."

Mark 12
28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”
29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is:‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Matthew 7
12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Romans 13
8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
9 For the commandments,“You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

My loyalty has to be that of God first and then that of loving my fellow man. A dog is loyal to its master for the master takes care of his dog. Same with God as He knows what is best for us and has our best interest in His hands.

We first need to be loyal to God and then He will lead us to be loyal to others. Without being loyal to Him, we can not be loyal to others.

there are only a few Scripture references of loyal or loyalty. (I searched 29 web pages looking. ) one is >

2 Timothy 2

Good News Translation (GNT)
A Loyal Soldier of Christ Jesus

2 As for you, my son, be strong through the grace that is ours in union with Christ Jesus. 2 Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also.
3 Take your part in suffering, as a loyal soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 A soldier on active duty wants to please his commanding officer and so does not get mixed up in the affairs of civilian life. 5 An athlete who runs in a race cannot win the prize unless he obeys the rules. 6 The farmer who has done the hard work should have the first share of the harvest. 7 Think about what I am saying, because the Lord will enable you to understand it all.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, who was raised from death, who was a descendant of David, as is taught in the Good News I preach. 9 Because I preach the Good News, I suffer and I am even chained like a criminal.

Matthew 6:24
Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

24 “You cannot serve two masters at the same time. You will hate one and love the other, or you will be loyal to one and not care about the other. You cannot serve God and Money at the same time.

which may mean we cannot ('always') be loyal to a person and to God , it may be one or the other, although if one is loyal to God, then then what God knows is best is what is done, even if it doesn't look like it.

Notice we cannot be loyal to God, and get entangled in the things of the world at the same time.
