Bible Study Luke 1:30-33

Luke 1:30-33
King James Version (KJV)
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luke 1:30-33
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
30 The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; 33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
30 Often time angels tell those they speak to not be afraid. Angels bring messages from the Lord; it is not always an easy message but is always an important message. The angel knew her name; this is probably because God told the angel her name. Favor with God is important and service to Him can not be done effectively without it.
31 A young woman will have a son, happens all the time but Mary was a virgin. This is a young virgin having a Son and naming Him Jesus. There were many people whose names were given by God, Abraham, Isaac, Sarah, Israel, Paul, Peter to name just a few, anyone who had a name given to them by God had a great purpose from God to fulfill.
32-33 Jesus was the Son of God and was the rightful heir the throne of David. The line of kings was cut off but David’s line reigns forever thru Jesus. Jesus did so much but is still not done yet He will establish His reign on earth for a thousands years. Jesus was only on earth 33 years and His ministry only lasted 3 years and in those three years He changed the world like no one else ever would, imagine what He could do on earth in a thousand years.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Just as Gods word is birthed in us by His Holy Spirit our calling is to take His word out unto the nations. Many fear that of what they are called to do, but like Mary, if we are trusting in the Lord we need not fear anything of this world. Once Jesus returns for His bride on the 7th trumpet call the door of Salvation will be closed forever. There is no second chance or a secret Rapture just as there is no literal1000 year reign of Christ here on earth after we have been changed into our glorified bodies and are taken up to meet him in the air. Why would God allow us to come back to a wicked earth for a 1000 years and then usher down the New Jerusalem.

2Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Gods timing is not of our literal timing of days. Just look at Gods creation. It was much longer than just a week period, but I'm getting off topic here and this is another discussion.

Hi Clark. I will always look at the birth of Jesus as the greatest miracle known to man. What I'm going to post is probably not what you were looking for, but I just felt compelled to write this. Recently I reread "The Chemistry Of The Blood" by M.R. DeHaan M.D. I have been captivated by Dr. DeHaan's explanation of the virgin birth.
I thought you might be interested in what this Medical Doctor and Surgeon had to say about the birth Of our Savior.

"It is unnecessary that a single drop of blood be given to the developing embryo in the womb of the mother. Such is the case according to scientists. The mother provides the foetus (the unborn developing infant) with the nutritive elements for the building of that little body in the secret of her womb, but all the blood which forms in it is formed in the embryo itself. From the time of conception to the time of birth of the infant not one single drop of blood ever passes from mother to child. The placenta, that mass of temporary tissue known better as "afterbirth," forming the link between mother and child, is so constructed that although all the soluble nutritive elements such as proteins, fat, carbohydrates, salts, minerals and even antibodies pass freely from mother to child and the waste products of the child's metabolism are passed back to the mother's circulation, no actual interchange of a single drop of blood ever occurs normally. All blood which is in that child is produced within the child itself. The mother contributes no blood at all."

The blood in Jesus' body came from His Father. The Scripture says in Matt. 1:18-20 "That which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost".

When ever I speak to JW's or Mormons, I speak about the Blood. They deny that Jesus is God's Son, being perfect, and having perfect divine Blood. They admit that man's blood is not sufficient for the forgiveness of sins, but reject Jesus from being God in the flesh, so I tell them that their sins are not forgiven because they believe that Jesus was a created being.

I could say a lot more but you get the idea of why I like this analogy.

Love you Brother!

As far as I know they both still believe that they are saved by their works, by obeying the commandments and doing good deeds. Just like the Jews.

You are correct. That is why I never speak of any theology other than the Blood Of Jesus Christ. It is the only doctrine that they have no answer.

That is very good and I had never thought of keep the conversation focused completely there.
"Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness" (para)

Absolutely. At one time, a couple of JW's visited me and got frustrated so next day a top elder from their group came and I asked him, if he believed that the blood of Jesus was, what they believed took away their sins, he said yes. I asked him, "who do you think Jesus was." He said created like an angel, probably the top angel", that is close from what I remember. I told him that from what I remembered, angels don't have blood in their veins. For everything that he thought Jesus was, he could not come up with anyone who had PERFECT blood. I explained the virgin birth and the fact that Jesus' Blood was perfect but he had to believe that Jesus was God Man. In the end, he did say that he would have to research the blood because he had never heard what I told him....I never saw him again.
