30 years old was the common age to start ministry or service to the Lord, it gave time to learn the word and truly understand it.
This line starts with Joseph most likely because he was his father in laws heir because his father in law had no sons.
This line is most likely of Mary and unlike Matthew’s goes to Adam, Jesus us the second Adam.

Interesting observation Clark. One of the pitfalls of a young man entering the ministry is "pride". Your thinking is a lot like the Apostle Paul's when he cautioned against a novice, lest he be lifted up in pride.

Yet if we look at Paul as our example at the time of his Damascus road conversion and beyond:
  • Paul was a fully grown man (I have no idea as to his actual age).
  • Paul was a Pharisee, educated, trained and learned in the old testament writings and the knowledge of the law.
  • For all his knowledge of the law and training in the scriptures, Paul did not understand them as a Pharisee and student of the scriptures, or he would have recognized Jesus when he was yet alive for who he was. But obviously we know that didn't happen else he would not have been involved in the stoning of Stephen.
  • Paul, or maybe I should say Saul, a trained student of the scriptures and the knowledge of the law and prophets, and yet remained blinded to the truth. It was not until the Lord blinded Saul on the road to Damascus, that he truly began to see.
  • After Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus, didn't Paul wait for 14 years or something like that before he actually set out on his ministry to the Gentiles?
  • Paul, being a learned man in the scriptures, finds his understanding of the scriptures made plain before him by the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit, and he is able to convey this understanding of the old testament writing and the law better than most of the other new testament writers.

Could be, maybe people would accept Him better, I don't know for sure, afterall He was God in the flesh.
But I do know when He was 12, He was found in the Temple, in the midst of doctors, hearing them and asking them questions, And all that heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
And when they saw Him they were amazed.
And He said to them, How is it that ye sought Me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
Luke 2:43-49
In the book of Matt. You will find the ancestors of Joseph, Luke the lineage of Mary.

All that you said is true my friend. Thank you for shedding light on another side of Clarks OP.

I am not sure what your point is, clark.
That is because I see a H U G E cut-and-paste about the genealogy of Jesus and nothing about either Paul or Adam in either passage.

Are you perhaps attempting to set a date for the beginning of Paul's ministry? If that is the case. I ask "What is the significance of doing that, and please explain your reason for seeking information about which the NT is silent?

From what I can see, Clark was in favor of older men entering ministry, rather than young men because of the issue of pride. Of course I could be wrong. I was wrong once back in the fifties. :hysterical

Thanks for the clarification. Being an old geezer, sometimes I am not as smart as I once was. That was when I was 17. I knew everything then.
