[_ Old Earth _] Making up history and calling them facts

Carico, what are you talking about? Odysseus saw Poseidons son! Heck, he stabbed his eye out. And then his son called to Poseidon for help and the seas became rough and blew Odysseus offcourse. And how do you think they made the statues of Poseidon? Ofcourse they saw him.

Heck, if you want another example, they saw and met with Circe on her Island. This is all claimed in the Iliad, on the eyewitness testimony of Odyssius as Homer has written. Are you calling Homer a liar?

You haven't answered my quesion: when did Ulysses see Poseidon? :o The stautes were images of what they imagined Poseidon to look like just like the paintings of Christ were images of what people thought Christ looked like. The bible describes Christ as having features that were nothing of beauty that men would call him handsome.

You also forget that Homer never claimed the Iliad and the Odyssey to be the word of God. All he claimed it was was a story and I agree with him. But the bible not only claims to be the truth, but the word of God aas well. So again, until you can prove it is a book of lies, your declarations that it is are simply slander.

So wait, because we have never seen Posiedon, that makes his existence unlikely? Hmmm.....I wonder who's seen God....*shrug*.

Carico, I will give you 10 million Franks if you can show me where Homer claims the Iliad to be a mere story.

Would you trust anyone who went around tooting his own horn? Would you buy a car from a salesman that intruduced himself and said he was an honest salesman? The bible is true WHY? Because it says so. It is a circular claim or arguement.
