On a Catholic forum this would be a very touchy subject but not here

Every year there are thousands of reports of people having an apparition of the blessed mother
And there are more that don't get reported apparently. This has been happening for centuries

Over the years i've taken a close look at Marian apparitions and have some opinions.
But what do you think, I want to know the opinions of other Christians.

What do u think about Marian apparitions?
Has anyone taken a deeper look at the phenomenon? Had a deeper think about it all?
Im hoping so cos I have no where else to spill my thoughts

My mother claimed to experience an apparition of the Holy Mother. But I can't help but ask how anyone knows it is the Holy Mother unless they are told by the apparition since nobody knows what she looks like.

In cases such as Fátima the sears have asked her

And a spirit can be verified by telling the truth ,having seen a few. Yeah that's interesting ,

I'm sure the familiar spirit of waldo sexton here has done the same .he haunts all his old properties .I have felt that .

U have had a paranormal experience, ohh im interested please tell

At first I thought the title of this thread said "Martian Apparitions." :hysterical

I don't know much about them except what I learned from the movie, "The Song of Bernadette." But I believe Mary, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit all reveal themselves. Spirit, as I call the Holy Spirit, talks to me all the time but I have only seen her in my imagination. I would love to have an apparition.

I have plenty but I also wouldn't base doctrine on it,while the bible is silent on the matter of of saints can come back ,its rare that it does ,only Moses, and Elijah are mentioned.and also the shrines to mary are often idol like ,I can post or go take photos of those near the Catholic parish and st.helens has had flowers lain at her feet...

I get the icon thing but the temptation of that to go south is greater then its worth,he Catholic are easily spooked by apparitions ,trust me I have a few sail hail Mary and seek a priest over a photo of a home I had mentioned of having a spirit .funny I ate lunch facing that house today

I know some appearances are real because of Scripture. Jesus appeared to Saul. Or was it just a light from heaven?. Please inform.

Is it blasphemous to believe that Jesus appeared to the disciples as an apparition? I guess I need to learn more about the resurrection. I do know that in John Jesus said do not touch me and yet he lets Thomas touch him. Two different narrations???????

People put Mary on the level of God

I've never experienced any paranormal events so im interested to hear them, spill the beans. LoL

I know the Catholics appear to idolize Mary even though they say they they're only honouring her, I would know coming from a Catholic family

Most of their doctrines regarding Mary don't come from any apparitions though there are a few that did

But I don't want to get caught up in the Catholic idolization of Mary here I just want to talk about these apparitions anyway... I'll post what I think about them after I get a bit more feedback from some others

My mother ,grandparents were, and yes they ,but not all do .

You post a Catholic question like this on a protestant forum, and then back off, what did you, expect.

Co redemmer,I,have a Catholic prayer book,my,wife would pray it.I asked to stop she would pray to mary.

Mary if I have sinned ,please forgive me.that's in,that prayer book.sorry God doesn't need us to forgive others if we have not sinned against that person ,to seek forgiveness,to confess faults of a sin issue is but ,I can't ask my,wife to clear my sins.

I know about the cc.I,have attended mass ,I,mentioned st.helens for a reason ,I know its history ,its tied to three other parishes, those are. In cocoa, the Anastasia Catholic church and the other in one Stuart .st.Helens being started by a home meeting and a friar who would canoe from, cocoa to each area and return,he spent a week in,each area until a priest and a parish was started .in st.helens case it was at ed schlitts home .in Anastasia it was at a school built by a patron ,it was named for his daughter and both it and st,helens have a school and at one time a nunnery.

The old st helens sanctuary still stands and the old st.Anastasia school house built in 1910 still stands ,

Some say that is haunted

It's not a Catholic question to ask what people think about these apparitions. Lot's of people have opinions on them including non religious people.

This is a Christian forum, right, Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox and the rest.

I backed off on the Catholic idolatry discussion cos it's not what I asked about nor do I have any devotion to Mary.

Anyway lets see what other people think. Does anyone know much about any particular apparitions, the most known like Lourdes or Fatima or the present events in Medjugorje?

a protestant will call them a spirit and not to be believed.
Lourdes the lady of sorrows, yeah about that one. try visiting the fellsmere catholic church of that name, big shrine. I have a large immigrant population there and in my county, and yes I know of that one and like the mary issue its also pushing it.

the reformed is slowly coming out. funny there is a church whoses entrance and whole wall is luther putting is theses on the diet of worm's door and also other reformer history and its useful to teach of the reason of the reform movement.

i thought i would mention that since those that know will have that bias. my church is very old reformed and a five pointer

I don't believe it was Mary they saw. I was brought up a Catholic and went to a convent high school. I believed they had the truth but this one thing I could not believe even then. I never prayed to Mary or the saints.
For the last 46 years I just go by scripture. The bible says the dead know nothing.
I don't know how Mary died.

I have seen shows on the Our Lady of Fatima. I get confused with this whole situation with stuff like this. The one scripture that pops in my head when I am debating myself is: Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

I would think that a apparition would be something like an angel from heaven. Also, these apparitions start to give information and then this scripture pops in my head:
Revelation 22:18-19 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Im fairly sure the "book" that is being spoken about is the book of Revelation for that is the book of prophecy. Also Revelation was written b4 the bible was compiled so the writer couldn't possibly be talking about the bible.

But it's good to question these things...
What do u think about the miracle of the sun which happened in Fatima?

Then what ever spirit comes and says such and such ,we can add another book, chapter and such and such .
