Seeing there isn’t much interest here I'll try keep it brief. I've studied this topic so much I could write a book on it.
See, my parents are Portuguese and they've had a life long devotion/obsession with the lady of Fatima. Details of the events make me suspicious that it wasn't Mary but a deception by the devil, to draw people away from Christ.
Mans feelings for woman is strong. He will do anything for her. Satan knows this. He used Eve to seduce man into his very first sin. And now it seems he is using the image of a beautiful lady to seduce man again (the authority of the RCC). They say nuns are married to Christ. Who then are priests and bishops married to... It's why we see so much Marian theology even from early times, and the church fathers elevating her over time to deity status.
I fear that my parents will be cast into the lake of fire. There is nothing I can do or say to them that will change anything.
The only thing I can do is pray for God to forgive them if my fears are right. It really worries me, i loose sleep over it, i've cried about it. I often find myself begging God to save them, trying to reason with Him.
Their from tiny Euro villages, born into the Catholic faith, they can barely read or write and to make things worse the whole Fatima thing in their country. It's not fair, they didn't have a chance or a choice. I really hope God has the love, grace and mercy to forgive them for they are God fearing people who lived good and honest lives...
