Marriage After Death?

Back to the context of the Mark passage for a moment...

Context is established only after reading Mark 12:20-23. (compare entire passage to Mat 22:23-32)

Mark 12:20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
Mark 12:21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
Mark 12:22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

It appears they were trying to use the Law to trip Him up, but it didn't go down that way. :lol This passage has as much to do with the Resurrection as it does with marriage in Heaven.

Jesus answered them, saying:

Mark 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Mark 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

No one's saying they won't be there, but once the perfect has come the imperfect will pass away. Your post suggest that we will somehow feel slighted in heaven if we're not still w/ our spouses in a marriage relationship?

It sure wouldn't be quite the same. This is getting more and more difficult to explain. Not only because of the other topics on which I view things differently (i.e. baptisms and sealings for the dead, the nature of God), but others as well. This includes heaven (what is it) and salvation (how do we get to heaven).
Perhaps the reason why it's difficult to explain is because it's not biblical?

Actually, yes, Jesus is speaking to some Sadducees who would not have been married by the proper authority because they weren't even anywhere close to accepting/living the Gospel. Weren't the Apostles given the power to seal on earth that which will be sealed in Heaven? What was this sealing power? What were they given authority to seal? So, how can you say for sure that you cannot be married after this life? That, my friend, is not a Biblical teaching.
Uh, wrong, friend.
The other poster gave VERY clear scripture about this matter. There will be no marriages in heaven between us like there are here.
How you conclude that it isnt a biblical teaching is beyond me.
We will be married to the BrideGroom. That is the only marriage that will exist there.

Oh, I see.
Nuff said.

The READERs of this thread need to take note of the fact that you are Mormon then so that they dont get confused.

The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Luke 20:34-36
