Marry Christmas from Bill Maher! .....................?

I never thought I'd say this, but Bill Maher, the Atheist want-to-be comedian, has made a valid point with his Christmas message.

( WARNING ) It's got a little salty on language, and he specifically points out Pentecostals, as well as Christians in general, but he makes an interesting observation. One I've thought about, and one I've heard fellow Christians make as well.

yup. mr, unemotional here. yes i supressed emotions at will when i want to and God is focing me to feel.

having been that way even more so. i dont get excited at all in worship.

seldom do i lift hands, clap. etc. i tend to be quiet.
and i dont cry that much.
yet a few times i have fell out.

must be?
cant be excitement? now can it as i dont feel joy all the time. i'm very stoic by nature.

i niether fell depressed alot or joy. i remain in between.

so care to explain? tell me what i felt?

i want to know. as i hate what the lord is changing me to be but i know that i need and i fight it.

That gave me a laugh. But Mr Maher has a valid point indeed. The only disagreement I have is the slight implication that all those people in the video are actually true, Bible believing, Jesus following Christians. How many people call themselves Christians, but can't even begin to explain (correctly) what that means? They are not really Christians. Of course, the rest of the world doesn't know that, so they give us all a bad name.

Fortunately, most of the Christians around me seem to have a much better balance of the spiritual/material stuff than those shown on the video!

same/here. there's always those that are out there. and i wasnt one of those.

as i stated my personality is one so easily(at present) to give in to dancing etc during worship.

what i dont get is the baptist whose will just do that at a sports event and yet sit quiet when the greater then the mvp is present in church and they know it.

some like me are quiet others arent.

i dont force men to be as me and vice versa.

Hmmm, Bill Maher....yawn.

As far as Oprah goes, I was sickened by the ridiculousness of the audience.

As for worshiping God with all we've got in us, God loves it, and makes Himself present in it.

We are commanded to worship with exuberance. David teaches us to dance, spin, leap and shout before the Lord. Nowhere in scripture do people worship sitting, or quietly.

If one can scream and carry on at a football game, one can shout praises to the King of kings. Perhaps we should learn from those who worship before the altar at Harpo. They do it right before a wrong god.
