Growth Memories

Memories

" The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked will rot." Proverbs 10:16-32

How do you remember the righteous or the wicked when they pass away? I remember my grandparents and what a wonderful legacy they left me before they passed. All the wonderful times we had together will always be a great memory for me. But there will be no pleasant memories of the unrighteous. One very unrighteous person that I think of is Hitler. Do we remember him well? No, all we remember is the wickedness and cruelty he inflicted on his fellow humans.

We remember those righteous people who passed on many years ago. This in the faithful who are listed in Scripture. People like Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, Esther, and the apostles to name a few are remembered fondly. In contrast the memory of rulers like Ahab, Jezebel, Herod, and Nero bring little comfort to us are we remember how cruel they were.

What kink of memories are you making? When your family and friends pass by the casket and look at your face, what will they think. Now is the time to live in such a way that our loved ones will have no doubt of our destiny and will have pleasant, joyful thought of us after death. How will you be remembered?

Isaiah 57:1-2
New Living Translation (NLT)

57 Good people pass away;
the godly often die before their time.
But no one seems to care or wonder why.
No one seems to understand
that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
2 For those who follow godly paths
will rest in peace when they die.

Isaiah 57:1-2
The Voice (VOICE)

57 Eternal One: The person who does what is right dies, and no one cares.
Good people are carted off, and no one understands why.
For those who are in the right are taken away
and spared a face-to-face encounter with evil.
2 Nevertheless, those who go through life with integrity and righteousness
will rest in peace and die in their own beds.

Amen, the most important thing is are your going home to be with Jesus. I want people to remember me well on this earth but I want to go be with Jesus. I'm ready any time.

If I die before the Lord returns I do not want a funeral and also will be cremated and my ashes thrown in the river as being the place I loved the most. I want a '' HALLELUJAH PRAISE THE LORD SHE MADE IT PARTY" To me when a Christian passes it's a sad time as we will miss them for a time, but will be united with them in a better place. Those who were unrighteous that have gone on before us will be remember no more

Very true. I don't want my funeral to be a sad occasion. I am with the Lord, that isn't sad. I also want to leave a legacy. I hope to leave the world a better place than when I came in. That is how I want people to remember me.
