Micah 4:8 (ESV) And you, O tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Zion, to you it shall come, the former dominion shall come, kingship for the daughter of Jerusalem.
very well possible the place of Birth for Jesus . maybe this will stir things up the shepherds out in the field may not a have been just ordinary shepherds.. but Leviticus priestly shepherds appointed watch over the sacrificial lamb .. thus it may not have been just a ordinary stable manger Jesus was born in . but born among pure unblemished lambs ! these shepherds knew exactly where to Go . imo none of this was by coincidence. if any one has something to add or would like to question this i have much more info i have dug up.. none of this is found in commentaries

Not sure how you correlate the promise of the coming Kingdom and the promise of the coming of captivities in Micah chapter 4 with that of Jesus birth, the manger and the shepards who kept watch over the flocks in the field at the Tower of Migdal Eder.

The stories of Jesus being born there are only theories as there are no actual facts as there is only speculation of the actual site of the tower as it no longer exist, but scripture does say it was located around Bethlehem as Rachael is buried in close proximity to the tower of Migdal Eder, Genesis 35:19-21.

see you have to study background history see i never said it was Gospel did you try to even check out these shepherds ? for instance no directions was given to where to find the Christ Child.. very well possible levi priest in charge of the sacrificial lambs ..did you also know they wrapped these pure w/o blemish lambs in swaddling clothes also ? many things to connect in reference .i have many reference material .so if your might be interested i can share .but if not so be it or could be i just might not be off my rocker as you suggest

The Tower of Migdal Eder is located close to Bethlehem Ephrath according to Genesis 35:16-20. Some time in history they dropped the name Bethlehem Ephrath to just Bethlehem.

Matthew 2:1 and Luke 2:1-7 both say Jesus was born in the city of David, which is Bethlehem. When you read further down in Luke 2:8-14 the shepards were in a field outside of Bethlehem tending their flock when the angel of the Lord came to them with good tidings of great joy proclaiming the Christ child has been born in the city of David (Bethlehem).

The first declaration of the birth of Jesus was made to the Israelites being the shepards in the field around the tower of Migdal Eder outside of Bethlehem that were tending their flock. The birth of Christ was never proclaimed to the religious or political rulers, but only these shepards.

Migdal Eder means the tower of the flock and the shepards that tended the flock there were not ordinary shepards, but those who cared for the sacrifical animals for the Temple. According to the Talmud all cattle, which would include cows, sheep and goats, in the area surrounding Jerusalem as far as Migdal Eder were deemed to be holy and consecrated and could only be used for sacrifices in the Temple.

According to the prophecy of Micah 4:8 Jewish writers concluded in the Midrash that from all the places of Israel it would be the Migdal Eder where the angel announced to the shepards the arrival of the Messiah would be first declared as Jesus was born in the city of David being Bethlehem.

The tower of Migdal Eder was only a barn type tower where the sacrificial animals were kept and the shepards probably had housing quarters in the upper part of the tower. It's not where Jesus was born.

BTW ezra, I never said you were off your rocker nor did I even insinuate that you were. I said there are many theories out there without facts to back them up.

sorry but there was also quarters below stables . i will say there is a great possibility he was born here . to many things point toward... it really doesn't matter one way or the other. it was a thing of interest . i compare it to your theory of christ returning at the end of the tribulation period. the two important things is he was born of a virgin -- he was crucified risen again on the 3rd day ..the next even will be the return of Christ no man knows the hour or day..

I'm not going to debate whether there was quarters below the stables as that is only speculation. I see nothing that points Jesus being born there as scripture is very clear He was born in Bethlehem. It's not a theory that Christ is going to return at the end of the tribulation of God's great wrath as Jesus said it Himself in Matthew 24:29-31, but that is another topic.

i never asked you to agree did i ..i compare it to your speculation of christ return at the end of the 7 year tribulation .. there are other scriptures my point is your welcome to yours and i will keep mine.. all the things i read points to possible birth place .. i dont know you nor i was there but the shepherds didnt need any direction to find Christ

I never said there was a seven year tribulation, but again that is another topic. As for this topic I have already given you the scriptures about where the proxcimily of Migdal Eder is located and what took place with the shepards and where Christ was born. It's not theory, but facts found in the scriptures.

bout where the proxcimily of Migdal Eder is located
i have done my homework i never said thus saith the Lord your simply wanting to be right ,but after all it is a discussion :horse

Has nothing to do with me being right or wrong, but what has already been written in the scriptures about Migdal Eder. Discussions are dialect between people, but since you do not want an adult discussion I will move on.
You have a great day and a Merry Christmas.
