Arguing a matter, does not mean you attack the person, only what he or she believes comes into play.
If you believe something that is contrary to the Word, it will suffer under the Word, because the Word is also a Sword. If we protect our own doctrine , we too suffer with it. If we let go and learn from the Word, we live.
That IS the narrow road, because it comes against our flesh. It comes against OUR ways and the Word demands that we submit to it and not to our senses and our human logic.
To use human logic in our understanding of our walk with the Lord would make us no different from the Scribes and Pharisees of the time of Jesus. They could only see with the human eyes and only understand with their human logic. Jesus knew this and that is why He said on many occasion:
Mat 11:15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. He obviously was not talking about human ears, because they all had those. He was saying that in order for us to know the truth, we have to hear with our spiritual ears and see with our spiritual eyes.Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.
Mat 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
In the matter of healing, we too need to see with our spiritual eyes or we are no different from those who do not see.
1Pe 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
WERE, can only make sense to those who can see .
In the matter of the Newmanns, the world only sees with their own eyes and understand with their unrenewed mind, which cannot grasp the gospel. To them it is foolishness.
1Co 2:14 Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.
The legal system is operating exactly as God said they would. We cannot blame them, because they know not the Word, but we can support our own, when they suffer in the hands of those who are blind to the Word.
