Modern Christianity = Baal worship

really?

Shaul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

39 Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his place, the name of his city being Pau; his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.

Judges 6: 32 Therefore on that day Gideon was called Jerubbaal, that is to say, "Let Baal contend against him," because he broke down his altar.

Judges 7
1 Then Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

Judges 8
29 Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and lived in his own house.

Just because "baal" exists in a name doesn't make its origins "Baal". Christian has "ian" in it, does that mean the word "Christian" originated from my name, "Ian"? Need to be careful when you try to infer things like this, especially inferring things from a language you don't even know! And refer those names to Strong, you'll see your errors. And the passage from Judges is being taken out of context the way you are using it.

And to the OP,

I'd suggest that perhaps you are seeking a means to damn fellow Christians in order to glorify yourself as someone who is better than others. It's a dangerous road that you seem to be heading down, make sure you turn on the head lights or else that deer will jump in front of you without you even seeing it!

EDIT

Side note, anyone else notice you can stick the word "baal" into various songs and it sounds good?

Like the George of the Jungle song... "Baal, Baal, Lord of the Jungle Strong as he can be..." Or... "Baal, ball black sheep have you any wool"

:)

lol thanks. let baal contend with him yup that means he is a destroyer of FALSE GODS:lol

that was also in that link. if you read the whole thing. no where does it say or imply thats its ok to worship baal in the old testament.

should we christian name our kids satan?apollyon? or belezubub? my whole point that when i say or we mods see those names we often know that they come to troll and usually we are correct.

What are you, some type of a crackpot? Get rid of that kiddie outfit, son. I said it's common sense not to accept any image called God, putting pen to paper, and those who do are "Baal worshippers" by design!

First, it's a ski mask.

Second, I'd invite you to read your own "crackpot" posts. You are on some messed up ego trip with your "holier than thou" morality. Step off the soap box and get a good view of what's what.
