Modern english bible download

Bible Gateway has something like 77 different versions. I happen to like The GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) best. Plus, you can display as many versions, side-by-side, as you want.

I'm partial to literal translations, of which some good free modern English versions are the ESV, WEB, and VW. Most people are familiar with the ESV. The WEB (World English Bible) is in the public domain, so you can quote it as much as you want in published works without having to worry about legal issues. The VW (Voice in the Wilderness) translation is quite literal (even down to translating 'James' as 'Jacob') and I'm reading it more than I used to.

Greetings Andy,
I have one called "the book" which I believe it is the NLT and it's pretty good too. I had many others but decided to down size stuff and gave to some who desired other bibles...Had a good Paralel with 4 versions and it was very nice too. I think when a scripture pops, it is a good thing to read it in other versions too.
Well Have a very blessed and wonderful week
Jim
