Morality Question For You

One angle from your story that hasn't been spoken yet is what about the farmer. Are we not commanded to feed the hungry? For whatever we do or fail to do to the least of these, we do or don't do to Him.

Actually we did. We was talking about the farmer might have hungry kids too. So you can't feed one child from anothers childs plate.

There is no law and order in the scenario presented by the OP.

You're responding to an entirely different problem which is not the problem being presented by the OP.

In that scenario....the one presented...
What would be your way of escape?

By the time this happens the police will sort of already be our enemy too. There's already almost no interaction with them that doesn't end poorly for the civilian. The police take plenty of food off of kids plates.

We can't call the police and expect any real help. Besides, if the police saw you with a 22 waiting for rabbits, he'd arrest you let your family go hungry.

Depends on what area.

My wife was caught stealing for food ,and wasn't charged

That's true. I've heard of that before and it does seem appropriate. When it gets tight ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do. They are militant and almost never give anyone a break in Colorado. I don't think they have regular patrolman anymore. All of them look like a swat team or the Gestapo. I think I was getting pulled over a couple times a year on average in Colorado, but I don't know how they are back here yet. I haven't been pulled over yet and I've been here since Nov 2016 so I think that's an indicator that the police might be more humane back here, lol

If you are wondering why I altered the scenario it was to promote a spiritual truth, which I'm glad Edward concurrs with.

Threads are used for weaving which involves things being perpendicular as well as parallel.

Once i was walking past the roast shop and these two dudes come running out with a whole roast pork and the owner come runner put and was like " someone just stole my pork" and starting chasing them down the road. I never seen someone being chased holding a big hot cooked roast pork before. Probably burnt there hands.

The owner was a nice guy, and he also made the best pork rolls ever I used to purchase them all the time.

Theft is crooked but greedy theft is more crooked. I mean a whole big roast pork is not like a couple of roast potatoes.

Exactly.
I think the other poster doesn't understand the scenario you've painted.
All of society would be in ruins...
Each man for himself.

You know Ed, sometimes I think this is going to really happen eventually. Or, a totalitarian govt will take over. Both bad

I don't alter.
Ed presented a scenario, I gave my opinion.
FOR THAT SCENARIO.

If you changed it, then my reply would be different.

I don't read every single post ...

That's a lie of the devil.
Also, in our country wholesale theft takes place in all sectors right now regardless that we don't have an autocratic government. Sheep and cattle stealing is on going.
The faithful receive their daily bread.
Wholesale theft happens everywhere, but when the shelves are empty and no more food to buy then what will you do to help feed you and your family?

In this mans case in the OP he tried to find wild game, but when there was none, he reached out in faith and prayed to God for the needs of his family. When this calf wondered over to him and nudged him, I can only believe this was God's answer to his prayer. Even though the calf belonged to the farmer I do not see it as stealing the calf, but God providing for the needs of his family. We know the commandment, do not steal, but I do not see this act as stealing.

No one truly knows what they will do when desperate times will fall upon all of us and the stores have no more food. One should stockpile, but also to stockpile to help others that can not.

If you can't refrigerate ,kinda hard if you have no power .never mind thieves who will rob your food stock.

Why was the character in the OP afraid to just ask the farmer if he got a spare piece of meat or can hunt on his land.?

I think he does. I tink he just picked up where I left off and came out with a branch from that, but it was pertinant branch and also timely!

You know what I see? I see our people reacting to bad times by becoming more copperative to each other. There's a great awakening going on. I'm starting to think that our Lord God put Biden in the Presidency here, because he sure is hurting their cause. And it's awakening the people. I dunno if this is just a phenomenon here in my city, or if it's widespread, but I think it's widespread.

Lol! Because he (I) hadnt though about it yet? Because he's not used to pan handling, he's more the mentality of, live off the land that the good Lord provided type of guy. And he does have a .22 lol.

One would have to can or dehydrate meat, fruits, vegetables and find a safe place to stockpile which is not hard if you have the smarts to do this. I remember when we did this back in 2000 as to be prepared in that just in case scenario. Even if one can not do so if they have faith in God He will provide manna and quail for those who are His own. It also helps if one knows how to live off the land.

LOL
To God all sin is sin...
But yeah, I'd rather have 2 potatoes stolen than a whole roast!

People do need to wake up.
What this whole covid thing had caused is that many that trusted their govt, don't anymore.
I guess every cloud has a silver lining,
Or
Roman's 8:28
Or
God meant it for good.

I really wish the world would just end before anything like this scenario happens.

And amen to your last paragraph.
