Grooming seem like a sin, trying to be attractive etc
Wanting to buy stuff that aren't absolutely necessary s food seem like a sin for you are seeking material things, prideful and idolatry like
Even food, not necessarily overeating but somewhat more than necessary
Watching horror or action movies, going out even if not doing anything wrong unless it's a trip to the church or a family trip
Listening to music that isn't religious
Technology
Even celebrations and some Christian costumes
I'm starting to think I have to build a cabin, grow my own crops and read the Bible 24/7 in order to live my life accordingly
I think I'm falling into some soft of a spectrum so would appreciate input

Hello God's Soul, here are links to a couple of short articles about the word "adiaphora" that should prove to be useful.

God bless you!!

You are not going to escape sin in a cabin because you will bring all your imperfections with you.

Humans learn by making mistakes. We make mistakes because we are not perfect. It's better to make mistakes and repent than to never make mistakes at all, because if you never make mistakes, you will never learn. This is like a student who refuses to do his homework to avoid making mistakes. Well, that's not how it works. You must do your homework—that is, live your life, make your decisions, discover your mission in life, make mistakes, repent, correct them, and discover who you truly are.

To shut yourself in a cabin goes against the purpose of all this: to grow and learn where your actions REALLY lead and to discover who you REALLY are. God will not allow you to close yourself in a cabin. God is going to force you to take your own decisions, and if you refuse to make mistakes... well, you will make mistakes sooner or later. Then comes the next step: to repent. Repentance means changing your life when you clearly see that you have made a mistake. The danger in life is being unable to repent from a mistake, getting trapped in sin, and repeating a pattern that leads nowhere, forever.

From experience, I can tell you that when you have gone through all the dangers of different sins, the idea of living in a cabin can seem like a pleasure. In fact, there is a moment when you may have to refrain from retreating to a cabin and forgetting it all. So, it’s not a bad idea... but first, you have to understand why it is not a bad idea.

I've been down this road. I think you do start with the attitude of trying to do things that bring glory to God. But to try to be sinless like Jesus is an exercise in vanity. That's why we live by grace, not as an excuse to sin, but as a reason to be human, to be able to not make everything we do a project for sainthood.

At any rate, God won't respect us if we try to be like Jesus in our current state of existence. We have a Sin Nature, and we cannot expunge it from ourselves by organizing our lives perfectly.

God won't give us a medal for setting out goals that are more lofty than who we are at present. So live at whatever level you are, with an aim in mind to reach higher when you feel able.

That means you don't have to feel you must work hard all the time, and read your Bible every chance you get. It means you can relax, enjoy some leisure time, and enjoy the material things God gives you to be received with thanksgiving.

In a flawed world, your entertainment is not always going to be flawless. So do the best you can, and avoid the big sins. I would avoid horror, occultic movies personally, along with any entertainment obviously designed for corrupt sexual attraction. You're going to have, inevitably, some TV entertainment that mixes in some perversion, which hopefully you can simply dismiss as being of any corrupting interest.

People who are too rigorous in their religious discipline may have good motives, but they are not, I think, inspired motives. We can't make ourselves holy, but have to grow into it as we stay focused on Jesus day after day. That much we can do. Walking in the Spirit is not just living moral lives, but more, living spiritual lives.

This means we have listening ears and avoid occasions in which we get overly angry, jealous, envious, or judgmental. We can do all those evil things of the heart and still rationalize it away, thinking we are travelling on higher moral ground when we're really not.

So being "spiritual" really means listening to Jesus on every occasion, keeping ourselves at peace with others and in the love of God on all occasions. We don't just live by a set of laws, but listen to the Spirit within, in our conscience.

Love and holiness will come from inside, as we follow the Spirit each day, and the corruptions of the flesh will find themselves outflanked. But you do have to learn to say a firm no to certain things.

Put On the New Self
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Col 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Col 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Col 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Col 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Col 3:14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I liked Colossians so well when I was a young Christian that I memorized the whole thing! I don't think you could've provided a better quote on this subject! Thanks! :)

Ask God for direct input. He will give it. As you said it, there are many other influences in this world. We can ask Him to give us, the ability to divide between Him and them, using the Scripture as principal tool. The direct is still very important.

People need shelter & food. God tells us that He will provide for our needs. The Bible and government regulations tell us what we can and cannot eat. At one time, people were living in tents, and shelter is a lot more complicated. At one time, a camel was their main mode of transportation, and today we have supersonic jets. If you want to be part of the jet set.

100 years ago most everyone did some sort of farming. But they had a job also.

When I first met Christ I struggled with this greatly. Please allow me to share a quote with you from the mother of John Wesley. John once asked his mother to define sin, this was her response.

"Whatever weakens your reasoning, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God, or takes away your relish for spiritual things, in short, if anything increases the authority of the flesh over the spirit, that to you becomes sin, however good it is in itself.”
Susannah Wesley

This newfound sensitivity to sin can be overwhelming for a new believer.
But its one of the greatest blessings you will ever receive.

" To see ones own sins, and to weep over them, the man who has this blessing, has everything."
Author Unknown

Having said that, you must be aware that your adversary knows your name now, and He will be coming for you, to cut you off at the root before you have the chance to grow.

His greatest weapon at this stage of your journey is condemnation.

"Satan is the accuser of the brethren."

Satan will attempt to use this new sensitivity to sin to condemn you. Its one of his oldest tricks, and he uses it because it works so well.

This is how the Lord taught me to deal with his accusations.

"Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison."

Never argue with the devil, especially when he tries to condemn you.

"Take every thought captive."

And give it to the Lord.

When satan accuses you, run to your Father, ask forgiveness. If you are uncertain whether or not it is a real or false accusation, run to your Father, seek wisdom. Whatever the circumstance, run to your Father.

When the enemy of your soul sees his accusations only serve to push you deeper into prayer, deeper into the word, and bring you closer to Christ, he will back off.

But he's not done with you. As you begin to grow in faith and obedience, he will return, at this time he will be coming at you from a completely different angle, a full 180° turn, now he's going after your pride.

If you are new in Christ, you may have not yet realised that you just enlisted as a foot soldier in the longest running war in history.
Prepare accordingly.

I see you
Though I try and focus on life with no sin, or rather avoid it, avoid things that I am capable of you know
Funny this thought process was prevalent with me when I was younger, and still is a little bit today. But I find myself of the exact same mindset when I'm playing football as a quarterback.

When I go into the game with the mindset of "DONT THROW ANY PICKS/INTERCEPTIONS", my mind is so laser focused on not throwing any interceptions, that sometimes I miss wide open wide receivers, or I stopped making timely plays, because I'm trying to find a way to not throw a pick. Sometimes I'll even take a sack before I throw a pick.

And then when I rack up on throwing interceptions that I throw, I end up rage quitting or beat myself up about it and care more about my personal stats than winning for my team.

But when my mindset is on just playing football, l and overall having fun, those turn out to be the games where I throw the most touchdowns and so happen to have no interceptions. Now there will be a few games where I will throw an interception or two despite this mindset, but I've never lost those games because of the mindset.

So same logic applies to our spiritual lives.
