mother's day snafu

My mom's into gardening. So, I ordered a gift certificate from what seems a good plant company. Problem is...its not here. Won't be here till after Mother's Day (not their fault;its mine of course).

So..in the meantime...what should I do? She doesn't like chocolates, she has all the books she can stand, her musical tastes are such that she already has all the music (Roy Orbison, Elvis, Johnny Cash) she could ever want.

Just a thoughtful card, then a "ooops...here's your real present!" when I get the gift certificate?

Thanks.

What a thoughtful gift, CE! She will love it (coming from someone who also loves to garden :)).

You could make up a temporary certificate to give her, until the real one arrives. You'll have something to give her and she'll be surprised.

Mom has great music tastes :thumbsup
AS a mom i totally agree with Abigail..

That's interesting brother. I had a rose bush in our back yard (pink roses), and over time I realized that it seemed to be flowering less and I wanted to help it. So I took an old pound of gunpowder and spread it all over the ground beneath the rose bush and put the sprinkler on it real good one spring. When the flowers bloomed, the bush has bright red flowers as well as pink ones. The pink color seemed more intense also.

Nitrogen baby! yeah!

Oh great, now we have a bunch of men that love flowers.
What's the world coming to?
I'm not into growing orchids. just that I mentioned and I had to go and check my water meter and so I took a pic of it and posted. besides men historically in japan were into growing flower gardens as a Buddhist thing. tea and flowers,

lol. its not a sin to enjoy flower gardens. my wife was invited to a garden club because of her orchids. she went to one and mentioned that plant and the president came to by to see it and would stop by and take her to shows.

I didn't used to be interested in orchids either. Now that our daughter lives in Hawai'i we bring back a couple every time we visit. We have a room full of orchids now, but, of course we have to grow them indoors most of the year, while they grow naturally outdoors all over our daughters property.

Oh great, now we have a bunch of short sighted men here too lol. :poke

Ya got it all wrong bro, it's just that some of us know how much the ladies love flowers. The presence of flowers in a home bring peace and a good romantic ambiance. Here’s the nitty gritty: A Rutgers University study found that the link between flowers and your satisfaction with life is far more important than previously thought. Having flowers in your home increased happiness, reduces depression and anxiety and actually can increase emotional contact with friends and family. A separate study by Harvard University found the same results – increased compassion, feeling less negative, and more energy at work. In a trifecta of flower research, Texas A & M University found that flowers and plants in the workplace improve problem solving skills and increase creativity.

Same thing with house deco. I got my man cave of course but the house is deco'd by a woman, so a woman will feel comfortable and nice.
