Mutual stumbling blocks: Protestantism and Catholicism

This is a self-defeating idea (just as Sola Scriptura is, but that is another story), proven wrong all the time. Solo and Destiny will argue about some issue, and both people are led by the Spirit to interpret the Scriptures without error. How can this be?
Of course i'm the one with the Holy Spirit and Solo is just mimicking church doctrines. :-D Just kidding, but that can be the case sometimes, and it can cause divisions on core beliefs like the OSAS issue.
I won't say who is right about that one. ;-)
hopefully solo won't see this

Yes, unfortunately, that is correct. I think the Church of the NT era recognized this, as well, because in the later writings, say the Pastorals, we find a more authoritative organization of leaders being left behind as the first generation dies off. These same writings tell the Christians to obey their leaders and charge the leaders to hold faithful to the teachings once given. Authority, thus, is part and parcel of our belief. Of course, it gives us a reference point when we read the Bible.

So why do you latch on to some verses and not believe others like Matthew 23:5-12 and Matthew 1:25? Sorry, but people who only pick and choose what verses to believe haven't demonstrated why they should be considered credible.
