[__ Prayer __] my family

My parents went on a short trip down to the beach for a couple days. They came home today. Its...crazy. There used to be such distance between us. Tension, too. And now...

Peace. I think we've reconciled (?). I praise God for changing me so both my parents and I could put the past behind us.

Oh, and...it will soon be 7 years to the day since I went nuts and attacked my dad. The attack could have landed me in either prison for a little bit or the lovely state mental hospital. Instead, I got to go to Teen Challenge in another state, which began my journey to Christ.

I'm hoping it won't be too hard on my dad. Such trauma. Honestly, I barely remember that day...by the time I was arrested, I could barely form a complete sentence (some kinda psychosis...). Still, its hard on my father, so I ask that you pray for him as this unfortunate anniversary draws near.

Thank you. :)

Dont hold guilt upon yourself CE. The past is the past and your parents love you. You are there Son.

These things happen in life and all parents know there kids go through all different stages. Years ago i flipped at my dad, only verbally for no reason when i was drunk, i told him he was useless dad and a ##$$%^^^, and so on, and i cant hold on to something as pathetic as that forever. Even your situation the same applies. We are forgiven through Christ, and can show our love and respect back to our parents. There is no guilt. Your a changed man and you have proved and shown yourself as a changed man for the better and im completely sure your parents are proud of you.

What is better for them to be witnessing right now in this present day?, you in prison?, or you as a changed man trying to do your best and getting somewhere in life?.

You see, the past is gone brother, its gone, thrown away, non existent anymore. You are the in the moment right now CE,. The changed CE. The new and improved CE. The doing well CE. :cool2

Hi CE

Yesterday is yesterday, it's history and we cannot change it. I'm sure so many of us have done things in the past that we regret, I am certainly one.
We become older and wiser, all the challenges you have dwell from the past. It's done, you cannot change it. Focus on the present and the future.
Look at the positive, it's your 7 year anniversary since you turned your life around and gave yourself to God and grew closer to your family, celebrate that. They have forgiven you, it's by time you forgive yourself.

Spend time with them, talk to them and value each day.

You in my prayers.

Isnt it remarkable for time to pass and you look back and can see clearly how God has worked in your life.
A Christian looks back 5 years after salvation , 10, ....25, and thinks..."WOW, only a loving Father who is in control could have accomplished all that FOR ME".
"Look at where i was and look at where i am NOW".
