My Gun is much bigger than yours! (military pics)

I'm the guy in the middle of the guns trails (legs).

Loved the video man.

I tried to post something on here earlier but it never showed up... I dont know if this is off topic but can you really be in the army and be a Christian? I know i'll get crucified for this and i expect nothing less than that from people in the military but is the army really anything Christians should be a part of? Jesus said love your enemies and the army is about killing your enemies... We are to do good to those who hate us... We are to overcome evil with good... is killing people the way to follow Christ? If we call ourselves Christians then we should follow his teachings. But Christianity and American patriotism have gone hand in hand for far too long. Early Christians were unpatriotic because they refused to participate in the military... how far have we come?

Some people (like me) are in the army for the experience and for the $$$$ ;)

GIMME A BREAK!!!

The "army" as you put it is hard at work so you can lay your head down at night in peace. They are not there to "kill enemies" they are here to serve our country and protect us. I wonder why the military has chaplains? Hmmmm...geee golly....

If it weren't for them you would be a muslim!!

BTW, this is not a bash christians in the army thread, so go peacefully. :-)

I wonder how they protect us. Could it be killing people who want to harm us? This sounds awful close to "overcoming evil with evil". What does it matter that the military has chaplains? That makes it blessed? People can slap God on anything and say it's good. Doesnt make it good.
So i'm not muslim...great... we're just Christians who don't listen to Christ... much better...

This is not at all clear - I suggest that Dubya's "Yee-hawd" in Iraq makes you less safe.

I think this is debatable

No. You have no right to expect this poster to "leave". You guys are glorifying weaponry - a behaviour that should be deeply offensive to the obedient Christian. We have every right, and in fact a responsibility, to respond to such a deviation from the way of the gospel.

Everyone....

Can we please keep this thread on topic? There is another thread opened in terms of Christianity and the Military. Which if I am not mistaken, is a repeated thread. For we have had one here in the past. Surely there will be a number of us with different views...but please...let us keep this clean.

May God Bless You

Danielle

Sorry. Im new. i should have looked. THe guns just caught my eye and got this mind of mine going. I apologize.

Sorry - no free passes.

When you start a thread like this, you are implicitly glorifying weaponry. You do not have the right to "shut out" contradictory positions.

When you post this kind of material you are sending a strong implicit message about the relationship of the Christian to weapons - it is not merely a discussion about the technical features of guns.

So my post was entirely within the reasonable scope of the thread.

:backtotopic Please. I understand some of you may not like or agree with other's use of guns or their sharing of pictures. But please.....can we stop wandering off from the topic? Also with the rudeness? This will be my last warning before this thread is locked.

Hey Vic/Rick can one of you clean up this thread without locking it?

Well if by this you are suggesting that you get to "talk guns" without being challenged on the morality of it, then that would be a big mistake on their part to accede to your request.

Look. Imagine if me and a couple of my buddies wanted to start a discussion about our favourite strip bars. You presumably would want to raise some form of protest - suggesting that such a discussion degrades women.

And you would, of course, be perfectly justified to do so. Would it be right for me to ask the management to censor all challenges to my "strip bar" discussion and let my buddies and I talk about strippers without challenge? Of course not.

I trust the point is clear.

Where do we go to continue this discussion then? Sorry. Again im new. Can we pick it up somewhere else?

If i wanted to talk about morality i would have said so in the OP. All i did was show a couple pics of me doing my job, if you want another pointless gun debate start one your self.
Trolling and hijacking threads is not the way to do things.

This is a christian forum and strip bar pics and discussion are not allowed, guns/military photos are, just because you somehow find a Christian/gun combo to be evil or vial does not make it so. If you don't like it...leave. This thread is gonna be put back on its tracks, i have already talked with an administrator.
