My Pet Peeve

if I may ,if the president was married by the nearest minister to a man .y'all would judge him in sin and pray.

If he publicly married a man, there would be no question about it.

if a person openly said that he doesn't sin and the. claims to be a christian and doesn't recant that ,I doubt them as be saved.

I got saved and God showed me the faces of people who God lead to me to repent .it wasn't to shame ,but to show how merciful God was to me ,I mocked them in my heart ,I apologized to a chaplain who was one ,

contrition is part of this . I'm not expecting perfection but sharing why I doubt .

Paula white is a heretic

she employs the journey song don't stop believing as worship.

There's something odd about a man who is so full of vitriol for his enemies, praying in public. It looks fake, in my view.
Sorry but this thread is political . I'm just responding.

Matthew 23:33 - Matthew 23:15 - John 8:44 - John 11:41 - here's someone else who called people names publicly often - and then also prayed publicly for all to see - i don't think he would appreciate being called fake

You dislike these scenes because it's not in private?

There is a time for secret prayer and a time for public prayer. I thought it was amazing that President Trump allowed prayer like this. It was much needed and to see it - amazing.

Stephen was being stoned to death and his last prayer can be found in Acts 7:59-60 (NIV):

While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.

It doesn't say Stephen whispered or that he hid his face on the ground or thought in his mind. It says he "cried out." I'm sure everyone could hear this that was there.

If we hide in our closets to pray, how would we be able to use "laying of hands." There is a time this is totally appropriate. A warning:

1 Timothy 5:22 NIV:

Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

Laying of hands in scripture (a few of the many scriptures):

Luke 4:40 NIV:

At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

Mark 16:17-18 NIV:

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
