My publisher has let go my publishing agent and replaced her with her supervisor. (Drinking I presume). My book is still in limbo. It has been 3 weeks same story..."We're working on it......still". The cover art is supposed to have 2 figures standing in front of a Christmas Tree.......they can't do it? Please pray for resolution.

praying...and...

not trying to scare you, but my own personal approach to troubles is to think of constructive alternatives, when possible (I know, I sound like a self-help seminar, lol). anyway...

i've known of (acquaintances, friends of friends) people who got surprisingly good results from the self-publishing industry, which...I think has come a long, long way from where it was even 15 years ago.

just trying to be helpful, etc. you and your family are in my prayers, of course. :-)

Thanks CE, but I signed a two year contract with my publisher and they get the rights for a two year run. Unless there is a way out of the contract, I'm stuck. I know this much. If they don't let me publish a fictional story to try and get off disability then I'm going to write my auto-biography and self publish. I've done everything I know to do to get off disability and they won't let me. Look up The Injured and Disabled Workers of America Foundation. We almost started that, but I realized I'm too damaged to run something like that day to day so we pulled the plug at the last minute. I've tried about a half dozen times trying to find something that I could do. This book is my best shot.

i hope and pray things work out with your publisher. :-)

it -is- incredibly difficult to find a way off disability. even when I was in school ---online--- , I got smarmy comments from professors and such. i mean, really? and that's just trying to break out of the little 'mental patient' box thru schooling. Pretty much...it does seem to be darned if you do, darned if you don't. ugh. praying a way forward for you, per His --perfect will-- , which is often bigger and better and brighter than anything us mere mortals can dream up. :-)

The new supervising publishing agent finally returned a second cover design proposal.....it took 51/2 weeks. We reluctantly agreed, among ourselves, to submit a final list of revisions to the design. This will delay the book but we want the cover to best reflect our intent. It will still come up way short of what we hoped. This final attempt probably delays the book another 6 weeks at this snail's pace, but it is still early in the year.....so be it.
Thank you all for your prayers and support. So much is riding on this.

Our son pointed out "Dad, I think the big guys directing these perpetrators want you off disability, but these wormy coward informants want you to stay on disability for the easy free money. If you make it off disability then they don't get anymore money."

i can relate to -some- of what you go thru, because you receive disability. my situation is complicated by...hot mess of an existence, till Jesus saved me (ongoing...)...but, yeah.

I live in The Southland, where disability=welfare=automatic object of scorn and derision. blah. apparently, if I'm not able to work, "he should be in the state hospital!" yeah...about that...

because state hospitals co$t taxpayer monie$, my state is all about the 'recovery model,' which basically means....drugs. lots and lots of drugs, whether the 'recovering' person wants them or not. -shudder- thankfully, im officially a 'voluntary outpatient,' so...fill the prescriptions, lay low. i do what i can.

such a cruel, cruel situation...seriously, truly: darned if you do, darned if you don't. i -definitely- pray you can find a way off of disability, and that this book can be a part of the transition. :-)
