Seems like your stuck on the offer for salvation, which clearly one can walk away from. Many do.

The fact is once a person has accepted the offer of salvation they are saved to the end. they endure to the end. So in this sense, Once a person is saved, (not just introduced to the idea, but converted) they are redeemed, and they will not loose that, but grow in it to the end. That is why they are so bold about it. They know more and more. They are made aware more and more. They have the strength of the spirit, the ability of the spirit, and the endurance of the spirit, and NO ONE, or teaching, can "SNATCH" them from His had. Not even you.

There is this saying, "Salvation is free, but it will cost you your life." We don't often know the full price of salvation until we accept it and begin to see the value more and more. Often we give a portion of our life to God in the beginning, and we give more as we grow. At least this has been the truth for me.

BUT Your not safe until you enter the arms of JESUS so,....

Pride and haughtiness should be considered poison to our spiritual state.

The danger with O.S.A.S. is that it implies some how that since you invoked the name of JESUS once that you deserve salvation.

Far be that from the truth.

here is the key abiding in him bearing fruit. he is the vine we are the branches. if the branch is not abiding in him it can not bear fruit. thus it will be cast into the fire.. why ? because it was never attached abiding in the true vine. those that practice sin --IMO was never saved to start with..there is security for the true Christian if need i can give you more scripture . i have put much study into this am i as osas like not to the point i can live how i want. still be saved that's not even Bible .. I'm not sure what you mean by 'invoked' the name of Jesus? But I can assure you that OSAS believers do not believe that just saying the name of Jesus and using His name saves anyone.

But it says that if you are truly saved you will stay saved. This is a promise from God to the believer. He says that those that are saved, will be comformed to the image of Christ.

but it's only the starting-off point, like a rat getting pulled out of the dumpster,
but Paul does a lot of encouraging that it should not fall back in again.

And Hebrews 6 talks about soil* that was once repentant, but which did not remain repentant, and, as a result, because it is unfruitful, is in danger of being burned, not harvested to the pleasure of the land's owner.

Wherever there is breath, there is hope. As long as that person has not already been hardened and turned over to their unbelief so they can't be saved. Obviously, reaching out for God from the fox hole shows they have not been turned over.

It's an analogy. Just as we cast dead branches into the fire, so will God on the Day of Wrath when the righteous and the unrighteous are sorted one from another:

4 “For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,†says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.†2 “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. 3 You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,†says the Lord of hosts.

Compare this to what Jesus said:

"40 So just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, 42 and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, [x]let him hear." (Matthew 13:40-43 NASB)


Instead of somehow changing the Word of God to mean fruitless, barren branches and soil will somehow inherit the kingdom and taking comfort in that, we should do what the Bible says and 'make every effort' by the grace of God to become fruitful branches and soil and take comfort in that. We all know the Bible says that, right?

You must be right, but it's strange that posting a couple scriptures can draw this comment "Changing the word of God." Only make every effort? Is that what is required; somewhat akin to a work of righteousness?

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
