Name something you are happy about today

That looks very complicated, but I know what it is now :lol
It is complicated, but the new harness makes it super easy. Not only that, but I had the new harness custom made.
Do you see the top of the picture with all the tiny ends? All of that connects to the engine and transmission.
As you travel down the harness where it starts to S, you'll notice that it gets fat and the small connectors stop. That part and everything below it will go inside the car. It comes into the car right above the brake pedal and then I routed it over to the glove box. If yo look bottom right where the 2 big fat connectors are, that's where the computer hooks into the harness.

There are a lot of really cool things they did with this harness that makes the whole job a lot easier. And it looks good!

Btw, I'm pretty happy about the makeshift fence I put up using zip ties and plastic shelving. It keeps the dogs out of my work area. We are dog sitting our sons 2 dogs and the world is there bathroom. They would rather go in the garage than outside. I am super happy they are leaving in a month!

That's cool I can picture how it fits in now. How long does it take to install? Must be some hours.

Do you mean the white fence in the photo? If so looks great very well made.

Naughty dogs, but funny lol.

I spent a little over an hour pulling it from inside the car to the engine bay and got 80% of the connectors hooked up. It will take another 30 minutes to hook the remaining wires to the transmission.

One boo boo. Two wires were supposed to be on the drivers side, but they put them on the passenger side. That will take me about 2 hours to fix. Oh well.

Going inside the car, I figure about 2 hours, maybe more to figure out exactly where the computer will mount and fabricate some sort of bracket to hold it.

As far as wiring on the inside, probably another 2 hours just because some of them tie into the new car harness I'm installing and the rest are going into another computer that controls my guages, as in speedometer, tack, fuel level etc.

Oh, my wife gets credit for making the fence out of shelving lol. I only take credit for using it to partition my work area off lol!

This is the new harness I'm installing for the car. All these wires control lights, stereo etc. This picture was from last week when I started. I've got most of the interior wired.

You must know cars inside out to be able to do all that. Congrats to your wife I have never seen such a good looking home made fence.

Just seen your last photo. I would be pulling my hair out with all those wires.

I called mama, and she said the initial review of the scan by the radiologist looks good. Yessssss! God is good! :)

That's something to be happy about...I get the sense that now she can -truly- relax and go on with her life, Praise God.

Ha, I'm still learning! I'm partially color blind, so I've always stayed away from major wiring. This kit is grouped into sections and each wire has its function printed on it as well as a number for reference.
It's as easy as following instructions from the book which has pictures. I like pictures, they make me happy!

Here is the new harness and what the interior looks like now.

Although I know that we always need a bit of rain, I'm still happy that the sun was out more than it wasn't yesterday, and now that school has started back up again (just like I've gloated for the last ten years since I graduated) I don't have to go. :biggrin

Wow that looks very impressive
You got that done quickly. Neat job too. Have you still got a bit to do with the bottom one?

We've been praying for rain. The farmers have been feeding the animals with food they'd been saving for the winter.
Hooray we got rain!

That one of my favorite roleplayers has an early release from school today!! I am extremely happy about that!! :woot

That I get a half day off this morning! It's nice to sleep in once in awhile.

That tomorrow's Friday. Payday. Not all ate up in the bills.

That I have no rent or mortgage payment! Praise the Lord!

The weather is absolutely beautiful today! It's sun shiny and cool out there it feels like autumn! :woot(and yes I've just about had it with this summer heat now :thudand I'm really looking forward to it) Also I'm getting McDonald's for lunch again because that seems to be the new routine on laundry day! :thumbsup

Thanks! Ohh, there is still a lot to finish for sure! I havent touched it in 2 weeks cause we went camping last week.

But I'm happy today is Friday. I worked hard this week and got my project at work completed yesterday ( a day early) which frees me up for performance tuning and refining my documentation. I might even spend some time today brushing up on Java. I've got a small utility I've been coding that would automate something I have to do 2 or 3 times a year that takes me about 3 hours to complete each time I'm asked for it. My code would reduce that time to about 20 seconds.

Its Friday! Woot, we made it!
