Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself here. I’m seeking to grow closer to God and learn how to walk faithfully in a world that feels confusing at times. I enjoy reading the Bible, learning from other believers, and finding quiet moments to pray.
Looking forward to meeting others here who are also growing in faith. Feel free to share your favorite Bible verse or something God has been teaching you lately!
Hello Becca, I'm new here as well.
I love it when I hear that someone is desiring to draw closer to Christ.
From my own personal experience with Christ, having known Him now for many years. If you want to walk closely with God and live a life that is pleasing in His sight, you must pray. Really pray.
"Those who come to God must believe that He is..."
You've clearly checked this box.
Hallelujah!
...and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
You can study the word. If you do not pray it won't do you much good.
You can preach the Gospel.
If you're not breaking up the hardened ground of men's hearts through prayer, you won't see much fruit.
You can be the smartest kid on the block.
If you don't pray, you will never be wise.
You can love your family and friends and even the lost.
But if you don't pray, you will never find Gods heart for your enemies.
No disciple of Christ will ever advance beyond the limits of their prayer life.
Prayer is communion with God.
When you love someone, truly love them, you want to be with them all the time, you can't wait to hear their voice, to feel their touch, to see their face.
If our relationship to Christ is as a bride to her husband. Then prayer is the marriage bed.
Faith and obedience are required to have a genuine relationship with God.
It is prayer which makes both of these possible. No one ever got saved without some kind of prayer, spoken or hidden in the heart. God does indeed hear our unspoken prayers. But He loves the sound of your voice, speak to Him often, wait for Him patiently, and listen. He has much to say to you, and its all love.
I pray that you find this encouraging.
