Greetings in the Name of Jesus the Christ. Grace and peace to all in the Forum. Special greetings to the Forum Owner and Admistration for creating this forum and allowing me to become part of this Community....I go by the name of "Chopper" probably because of my motorcycle background....I honor Jesus Christ Who saved me at the age of 34. I have been a Baptist Pastor/teacher for 38 years now, although ritired from the full time ministry at the age of 73, I still remain active in teaching the Scriptures and counselling various people in various situations....I have a question for the Forum. I spend a lot of time each day studying the Old Testament. I have been deeply grieved for Elohim (the Name of the triune God) because of the rebellion of the Nation of Israel, especially in the Words of the Prophets. I have discovered 4 areas of sin that led to their rebellion. 1. They married foreign wives. 2. They did not have the Holy Spirit's indwelling. 3. They did not make it a practice of praising God daily for His great deliverances. 4. # 1,2,3 produced a stiffnecked people who would not listen to God. I hope you Old Testament students would let me know if you can think of other reasons for their rebellion. Thank you so much.

because god allowed it and foresaw it. he said via paul that law was weak in that it couldn't change men or save them. they didn't have the full power of god that we have today. and elohim isn't His name. that just means either the strong one has sworn or also GOD. its not even a Hebrew word. its a Chaldean word meaning God (chief) god of the congress of gods).

Hi Chopper and welcome. My first full sized cycle was a 1949 74" Hydra-glide. To me the most obvious reason for rebellion against God is not being born of God, and then there is the difference between salvation and fellowship, thus the pronouncement of judgment on five of the seven churches in Revelation Chapters Two and Three. Hi there Jasoncran....glad to meet you and thank you for your reply. I am interested in your research sources as why you think the Hebrew word El or Elohim which is the first name for God in Genesis one expressing a triune God or plural God is Chaldean.

1) the jews and the early ones would never teach what the modern teach on a soul. the body isn't a soul and the soul is separate from the soul. that is unbiblical yet I have heard a pastor teach we have a soul and its having a body experience. that is what new agers say. and that comes from stoicism.
2) therefore by this one must conclude what image we are made in comes from two things, the nature of god in a spiritual form and how we act and emote and think and the earth and its elements as a body.

I will be gone for a month so contemplate that.
