New to the Faith

Hello, my name is Isabel. I just joined today, Igrew up christian, so to speak, however in my adolescence i withdrew my faith. I felt it was false and full of hypocrites, and it turned me off completely. Yet I was baptized being an unbeliever. There is A LOT going on in my life right now.... and I just need to find my faith again. Hopefully i can get directed to the right scriptures and form my relationship with Christ and our Creator, God again. I neeed you God, please direct me 🥺💔

You are certainly welcome although I think you need to spend time sharing your life with christians around you. I will stand with you in prayer for this.

I say this because normally our christian fellowship is based on sharing a love for Christ and the believers that mostly encompasses the joys and challenges of real life. You laugh and share each other’s troubles praying for one another and understanding and helping.

All we have here is words. We can’t look into human eyes or feel the warmth of human touch here. We can’t drink a cup of warmth and ask about the other’s day.

And because our culture has lost a great of the ability to think and explore other’s thinking with curiosity, there tends to be heated responses when anything but “I agree” is said. In short, it’s not a good place to find faith or maybe better said it’s not an easy place. You’ll have to make your way through some intolerant egos here. There are some hypocrites as well as treasures here. Your challenge will be to find the treasures.

I would be curious as to why you left the faith besides the hypocrites. We can’t do anything about that but why let other people’s behavior decide what you believe? What about the intellectual appeal?

Hi BellaClarie and welcome to CF :wave2

Despite what was said before my post we do have a diverse group in here and even though we might disagree with each other at times in how we understand scripture we are still a family of God as our common ground is the love we have for Jesus and the important thing is to build your personal relationship with Him getting to know who He is and who He needs to be in you. To refresh your faith in Jesus again I would suggest reading the book of John first as this will teach you about our relationship and fellowship with Jesus. Also praying to Him is talking to Jesus as you pour out your feeling to Him as He knows you are seeking faith in Him again. Please feel free to ask questions and we will do our best to help you on your journey of faith.

God bless you sister :)

Hi Bellaclarie
I've heard that he who seeks God has already found Him.

I welcome you with joy and pray you stay on the road toward God, who wants all to come to salvation.

Welcome aboard

At 12 I became aware of my sins.
I should say that is all I really understood.

The pastor asked if I believed in Jesus. Well I believed in Jesus as a person who existed and was well thought of.

I wound up baptized in a ceremony in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I really had only realized I was a sinner. For 12 years I repented over and over.

At age 24 I finall realized Jesus died for my sins.

We really go through knowing the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

for_his_glory can help you set up a question thread, or where to discuss your needs.
