Hi, my name is John and I have been an ex mormon for 3 months now. I left the lds church after I discoverd that the church leaders kept its history hidden from us about Joseph Smith and the book of mormon. At the moment I am not sure about christianity or God or Jesus, I still read the bible sometimes, but only the bible.

Ok well thats about it.

Hi John.. if you have any questions there are more than a few threads/members to help you find the answers...

Welcome aboard.. :)

I can understand your sentiment. Feel free to look around, ask questions or just hang out. Everyone here is at your disposal.

Welcome to the forums. :wave

Welcome to CF. John.
I agree with what the guys have said to you. We are a pretty friendly bunch and always welcome those who wish to be a part of the family here.
God Bless you. :nod

A most friendly welcome to our Forum. To be an X of any religion is a lonely, sort of scary position to be in. You may question your decision a couple of times and that's part of breaking away. We represent Biblical Christianity here at CF.net no religions here, just plain old trusting in what Jesus the Christ did for us on the Cross. We love Jesus and love those who belong to Him, and love folk like you who have questions about Truth.

I hope you can find peace here with folk who reach out to help, and you won't find anyone who will try to ram something into your mind that will upset you, and is not Bible Truth.

Hi John and you are so welcome here. I do hope you find your way, edification, help and love among us in your search for truth.
May God bless you in Jesus' name. :wave2

G'day John welcome. Everything has been said by our brothers and sisters already. Hope you find what you're looking for, more to the point I hope you find Him.

Hello exmormon, you'll be in good company here. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). Praise God you got out of that lie of the Devil.
Don't let the lie that was told about the Truth keep you from the Truth...
I have witnessed to a good number of Mormons before.
I remember one time in particular, I let them tell me their thing and then I would have the platform to tell them the Truth. And that is what happened. The one that spoke to me was bamboozled and had no idea how to handle the questions I was asking him and then he got his 2 others and they had no idea, until they got to the leader of the guys in that area and he came in and he had no idea either.
I worked on him until he got to the point where he actually said, "Well what do you want me to do? Admit that I've been following a lie and start over?"
I replied, "YES. That is what I did - when I was 22 (I was formerly considering myself an atheist) I came into the presence of God and knew Him and apologized for wasting my life until that point and started a new life - THE life, with Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing!"
The guy wouldn't do it, and neither would the others - it was an astounding display of purposeful unbelief, like the Pharisees. But you chose the to get out, and now that you're out, you are free to come into the Truth of God, the actual Truth; as you said, only the Bible.

Jesus is real, and He is just waiting on you. You might as well choose LIFE today and start a real relationship with the actual God the Father today. You can have someone pray with you here or you could, if you want, go on over to KCM.org, which is Kenneth Copeland's website, and have them pray with you when you call in.

Anyway, God BLESS you. I hope to hear soon that you have come into the Kingdom of God and that you know Jesus personally :)

I have been so depressed thinking that I was decived, but what worries me the most is that the way the lds church has convinced me to believe in their Jesus, is the same way I am been told now to believe in the right Jesus.

Hi John. I too left another religion as it were after becoming aware of their teaching versus what the bible said. I have read the Book of Mormon, talked many times to their elders, and have come to the conclusion they are wrong. If I can help you in any manner please feel free to ask. I do agree with what others have said and that is to read the bible. They do have the KJV bible and a comparison to it with The Book of Mormon should reveal many differences. I do pray you find the answers to knowing the assurance of the truth you desire. :)
