New Year Resolution

I don't take New Year Resolutions seriously. At times I don't even remember to plan my life ahead (during this period - December period...or towards the ending) and make certain vows. At times, I see it as a waste of time, 'mere formality' - must one wait until December periods before one could make resoulutions?
We need to make resolutions every second - we need to live our lives right at all times...and try as much as possible to avoid doing the wrong thing.
..
Towards this period you notice everyone talking about New Year Resolutions. Nothing is too special about it - except that some claim they want to leave their bad lives behind and enter the new year new persons. Very funny, and you notice the same group of people doing the same thing over and over and over again, each year ending.:dunno
))((
Some resolve to do bad, some resolve to do good - and what ever your resolution...do that which is holy and acceptable before God.

We have few hours left. The shaddows of 2011 is all around us.

I resolve to follow God at all times and listen more attentively to his instructions. Not my will - let Your will be done, O Lord.

That's a great resolution to have is to follow God and to let His will be done in your life. I believe the world puts too much stress on resolutions for the new year. When a resolution can start today and now whether it be January 1st or July 1st. The good thing about the Lord's compassions and mercies is that everyday is a chance to start anew. Although tomorrow is not granted to us, we're not restricted to beginning anew on January 1st. If it be God's will, if we miss our "January 1st" resolution date, it's okay... we can pick it back up on the 2nd or the 3rd. ...or even on July 1st... As long as we don't give up the plan that God has for our lives!

Happy New Year!!!

I forgot to make any new year's resolutions. It's too late now.

Classik,

How does that cliche go? 'My New Year's resolution is to make no resolution.' That was easy to keep.

I love it. How long should we say 'O my God...on my knees again'? (Unless I didn't get your intent; I think I do)

Awesome!

Like Classik, I usually forget to make a resolution as I find it to be something that people do to try to have control over their own lives instead of letting God have control.

In the past couple weeks, I decided that since Christmas was around the corner that I should try to eat less cookies, and junk. I have a sweet tooth, and Christmas is a very bad time for me. I didn't even really think about my goal to eat less this year as a "resolution". It never entered my mind that I could try to eat less, and lose weight for a new years resolution.... until I read this post.

Anyway, I do want to try to lose weight and not because it's a new year, but because 1 1/2 years ago I injured my back and I have a herniated disc. I was told that I need to try to lose some weight and get some pressure off my back. I've been trying to do it as it was doctors orders, and I want to try anything to help my back pain to decrease. So, anyway, I know it's so cliche that losing weight is one of the biggest new years resolutions... However, the good news is that because it's so popular this time of year, I can find really good deals on low-fat food because the marketing business uses this time of year to try to rack in the dough by putting weight loss foods and supplements on sale.

So, I look at it as more of a goal and attempt at a lifestyle change than a resolution that will cease to exist by next month. Resolutions usually diminish from peoples lives because they get tired of the work it takes, and the agonizingly long time it takes to see results.

I used to believe in things like new years resolutions. But since I gave my life to the Lord I only care about one thing , and that is to do His will and to follow His plan. He knows when he wants to do what in My life. He is learning me patience and to trust Him always. I will never again do something of my own will or power.
