No Threat

Hello everyone Ignacio here:

I personally believe Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons are not a threat to Christianity.

I believe a bigger threat would be: Islam, Atheism, Paganism, and Wicca.

I believe Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons hold common truths to Catholics and Christians.

Have Blessed Day :)

The only threat to Christianity is that of Satan who works his deceit through others who have no Spiritual knowledge as they teach the doctrines of devils as many are unaware of the devices of Satan and are led around like a bull with a ring in its nose.

Hey Free I looked this up and found that:

Jehovah Witnesses believe in: One True God As Jehovah and many Christians use that name for God.

They follow the teachings of Jesus and honor him as the Son of God.

They believe obedience to God is good and will produce blessings and life everlasting.

Some Christians believe you can obtain eternal life simply by faith, while others believe it is a combination.

As For Mormons they have even more similarities like: belief in Jesus, the Bible, the Lord Jesus as Savior, belief in Christ's resurrection, belief that Jesus died for our sins, belief in Baptism, belief in the faith and works combo for salvation.

I hope this helps. I personally believe that we should approach people in other religions with what they are doing right instead of cutting down and counting everything as wicked and wrong.

My perspective is that a Jehovah Witness or a Mormon could be saved. But they would probably also be holding onto some false doctrine also. For the Word says: Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

If someone believes in Jesus but has some false beliefs, I believe they would be saved but possibly miss out on some blessings in heaven.

Have a blessed Night - (-: - Ignacio

The problem is, we also have to be vary wary of false teachers. There are core doctrines of the Christian faith and both JWs and Mormons do not hold to those. They both use Christian words but with meanings that are not Christian. Language matters; it matters a lot.

For instance, both claim to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Yet, JWs believe Jesus is a created being, being the archangel Michael, and Mormons that Jesus is the literal offspring of God, the result of sexual relations between God and his wife. Both concepts mean they believe in a Jesus that is not in the Bible and cannot give salvation. Both deny the biblical teaching of the Trinity, so their god is not the God of the Bible.

Right off the bat, neither can be saved. The Mormons are actually much worse than JWs, since they believe each man who is married in a Mormon temple will eventually attain exaltation and godhood, becoming gods of the their own worlds. They are polytheists.

Both groups have been considered cults by Christians ever since their inceptions, for good reason. They are both threats to Christianity in that they are exceedingly deceptive in their erroneous teachings. At least a person can easily tell a Christian from a Muslim or an atheist, but many cannot tell the difference between a Christian and a JW or Mormon, believing that the latter two actually are Christian when they are not.

What Do Mormons Believe: Divine Authority
The Mormon church uses two sources as its primary authorities: the Book of Mormon and the Bible. The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price (The Book of Abraham) are also viewed as divinely authoritative.

In contrast, the Christian church (also called biblical Christianity) uses the Holy Bible alone as its authority from God (2 Timothy 3:16). Joseph Smith is not recognized as a prophet.

What Do Mormons Believe: The Nature of God
The Mormon church sees God as the Supreme Being of the universe. However, He gradually acquired that position over a long period of time by living a perfect and righteous life. God the Father has a body (flesh and bones).

In contrast, the biblical Christianity proclaims God as eternally and infinitely supreme (Isaiah 44:6; Psalm 90:2). He is the same today as always (James 1:17). He is a spirit Being (John 4:24).

What Do Mormons Believe: The Nature of Man
1. The Mormon church teaches that humans exist as spirit beings before their birth.
2. At physical birth, bodies are given to these spirits. They are also given an opportunity for free-will choice. The physical world represents a period of probation. The status of a person in the afterlife is determined by the way that person lived his/her life on Earth. If the person lived by a satisfactory standard, (including the fulfillment of Mormon temple obligations) that person has the potential to become a god in the after-life.
3. The person can also produce "spirit children" to populate a world of his own (like God did with the earth).
4. In contrast, the Christian church holds that humans do not exist as spirits prior to being born into the world. Humans cannot attain godhood or populate other worlds with "spirit children."

What Do Mormons Believe: The Nature of Jesus Christ
The Mormon church views Jesus and Satan as spirit brothers and sons of God. God put forth His plan of salvation for the world, and Satan proposed his own plan. Jesus accepted the Father's plan and offered to implement it as the Savior. The Father chose Jesus, and the spirit of Jesus was given a body through the virgin Mary. He was crucified on a Roman cross, and rose from the dead three days later to establish His deity. The character and life of Jesus is attainable by anyone who performs at such a righteous level.

In contrast, biblical Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ has existed eternally as the Son of God, the second "person" of the Trinity (Colossians 1:15-18; John 1:1, 3). Jesus took on human flesh about 2000 years ago and was born into the world through the virgin Mary (Luke 2). He was crucified on a Roman cross for our sins (Romans 5:8), and rose from the dead three days later to establish His deity (Mark 16; 1Corinthians 15:13-17).

What Do Mormons Believe: How do we Achieve Salvation
The Mormon church holds that Jesus Christ overcame physical death and guaranteed physical resurrection to all mankind. However, spiritual death can only be avoided through personal obedience of God's commandments.8 Forgiveness of sins requires faith, repentance and baptism by an approved Mormon priest. The practice of baptism for the dead is an extension of this belief, in which Mormons are baptized in proxy for those who have died without proper baptism.9

In contrast, the Christian church teaches that we are unable to live a life righteous enough to meet God's perfectly holy standard (Romans 3:23; 6:23). Therefore, we establish a relationship with God by faith in the work of Christ on the cross, not by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5). Baptism and good deeds are acts of obedience to God, but not the means for gaining eternal salvation.

What Do Mormons Believe: Life After Death
The Mormon church maintains that although there is temporary punishment for those that are most wicked, Jesus Christ will establish a new kingdom that will consist of three levels: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom.

In contrast, biblical Christianity holds that there are only two possible fates after death, heaven or hell. These locations are final, both physically and spiritually (Matthew 25:46).

Here is a statement from James White, co-founded of the LDS. "The way spiritualizers have disposed of or denied the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ is first using the old unscriptural Trinitarian creed." (James White, January 24, 1846, The Day Star).

Jehovah’s Witnesses are not allowed to salute the flag of any nation, recite the pledge of allegiance, stand for or sing the national anthem, run for public office, vote, or serve in the armed forces.

They do not believe in the Trinity. Instead, they follow a strict monotheism, in which: Jehovah is the Supreme Being. Jesus is the Son of God, a created being. Christ is believed to have originally existed in a pre-human state as the Archangel Michael. He later took human form as a man like any other person, except that he was sinless at birth and remained so throughout his earthly life. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ. They believe that after the crucifixion, Christ died and was resurrected as an invisible, non-material, glorious, spirit creature. They believe that Jesus appeared on earth after his resurrection in a special body that Jehovah created for him.
The Holy Spirit they believe, is not a separate entity, but is simply a force: the method by which God interacts with the world.

Salvation requires that one accept Bible doctrines as interpreted by the Governing Body, be baptized as a Jehovah's Witness and follow the program of works as laid out by the Governing Body.
Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that they believe in the grace of God and that one does not earn salvation by their works. While they give lip service to God’s grace, their actions indicate differently. Consider the policy of making a disfellowshipped person earn their way back into the congregation. Remember you must be a Jehovah’s Witness "in good standing" to survive the end times, and to remain in good standing you must follow the rules and works set out by the Watchtower Organization. If someone breaks a rule, the elders decide whether that person is repentant or not, if they decide they are not repentant they are disfellowshipped. A disfellowshipped witness will not survive the time of the end. Think about it, they are deciding who deserves God’s grace and who does not.
Wherever you find the word grace in most Bibles you will find the term "undeserved kindness" in their Bible. While this may or may not be an acceptable translation of the original Greek word, it gives them a great deal of latitude in their teaching. In the December, 1993 issue of The Kingdom Ministry (a publication for members only) in an article titled "Sow Bountifully but With Discernment" the Watchtower Organization printed this thought "We want to give deserving ones the opportunity to learn of Jehovah’s undeserved kindness and the Kingdom hope". This brings to mind some serious questions: How can anyone deserve God's undeserved kindness if it's undeserved? And just what methods would mortal man use to discern who deserves God's undeserved kindness and who does not, are not God's thoughts higher than man's? This statement really shows the attitude of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society—not all people deserve God’s grace and it is the job of Jehovah's Witnesses to discern who does and who does not. Jehovah's Witnesses constantly boast that they alone are "preaching the good news of the kingdom in all the inhabited earth". Are they preaching in all the inhabited earth or just to the ones they deem deserving?

They reject the traditional symbol of Christianity, the cross, as being of pagan origin. They translate the Greek word from the Christian Scriptures "stauros" as "torture stake", and believe that Jesus was crucified on a single upright wooden stake with no crossbeam. They view the cross as an Idol and wearing or displaying one is considered idol worship.
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tracts Society that was first released in 1950 with the complete works in 1961 as they deceive others by adding one single word that changes the whole meaning of one single verse.

Ok Free y for_his_glory I will not consider Mormonism and Jehovah Witness as a branch of Christianity.

But I also will not consider people of these religions hopeless cases.

And I will believe that people of these religion faiths are still indeed doing things right with their lives in spite of false values and beliefs associated with their religion.

I pray that everyone chosen for heaven and the final eternity chooses Christ and His true identity.

May God the Trinity inherit all the chosen ones chosen before the foundation of the earth.

Seal these words with iron and fire IJN AMN

But I also will not consider people of these religions hopeless cases.
And neither do I as many, like my sister, came out from among the JW when her Spiritual eyes were opened. We need to keep praying for those who are blinded by the false doctrines that are out there.

I respectfully disagree. The greatest threat to salvation is false doctrine that pretends to be "Christian" and claims they receive it from the "Spirit of God," even from those within the Church, and so they deceive even Christians into turning aside from the sound doctrine of the Lord Jesus and the Apostles.

1 Corinthians 4:6 (WEB) Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (WEB) 3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we didn’t preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you didn’t receive, or a different “gospel”, which you didn’t accept, you put up with that well enough.

Acts 20:29-33 (WEB) 29 For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears. 32 Now, brothers, I entrust you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build up, and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

1 Timothy 4:16 (KJV) Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

1 Timothy 6:20-21 (WEB) 20 Timothy, guard that which is committed to you, turning away from the empty chatter and oppositions of what is falsely called knowledge, 21 which some profess, and thus have wandered from the faith.

2 Timothy 2:16-18 (WEB) 16 But shun empty chatter, for it will go further in ungodliness, 17 and those words will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus: 18 men who have erred concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past, and overthrowing the faith of some.

2 Timothy 2:25-26 (WEB) 25 in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

2 Timothy 3:4-5 (WEB) 3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables.

The Jehovah's Witnesses teach a different "gospel." The Jehovah's Witness, except for the 144,000, are taught that:

*They are not in the New Covenant,
*The Bible was not written for them,
*The Memorial Service (Lord's Supper) is only to be partaken of by the 144,000,
*That they do not have the Spirit of Christ,
*They do not belong to Christ.

For the average Jehovah's Witness, they are taught that: They can only be saved by the {{{"Anointed (Christ) Class,"}}} represented by the Governing Body, who will judge all people during the Millennial Kingdom, as either saved to live on Paradise Earth, or be condemned; therefore, the JW must obey everything the "Anointed (Christ) Class" tells them to do and to believe if they want to be saved.

Matthew 24:5 (WEB) 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (KJV) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, [[ "IF" ]] ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 (WEB) For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.

Galatians 1:8-9 (WEB) 8 But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “gospel” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. 9 As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “gospel” other than that which you received, let him be cursed.

1 John 1:24-25 (WEB) 24 Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father. 25 This is The Promise which he promised us, the Eternal Life.

With over 8.7 million Jehovah's Witnesses, over 17 million Mormons, in the world, I would say that is a catastrophic threat to Christianity, in that, these persons are most likely not saved, since they are not in the Gospel of Christ Jesus. And what is especially threatening, is that Christians, like yourself, do not even realize the threat.

Having a good heart, and being well-meaning and sincere, will not save them on that day. Many Satanists, witches, etc, are well-meaning, sincere, and are of good heart to others, but they are in a false religion as well.

Yeah I guess in this life we just got to shut out, deny, and delete all the lies from our hearts and filter. And also from the enemy Diablo.

And do our bests to not go beyond the New Testament and Old Testament Scripture.

It can produce sorrow knowing how much negativity and lies there are out there.

But one day The Truth is all that will remain. Praise The Lord IJN AMN
