Hello everyone,

Fair warning I am not a Christian I am a Norse Pagan and observe my faith regularly. The reason I am here is because recently a lot of my friends have killed themselves which I put down to a mixture of drug use and lack of a spiritual base. These events have saddened me a lot recently and a good friend told me to reach out to the Christian community for support, which in all fairness I didn’t think I would do but here I am I guess.

Hi Nick
Welcome to our forum.
I'm sure we're all very sorry about the loss of your friends.

Norse paganism was replaced by Christianity in the 13th century.

Today some people have a problem believing in one God, let alone more than one.

I hope you come to know the true God one day.

Ni NickLeicester and welcome to CF :wave2

It is sad to hear about your friends and pray that God comforts your heart. Looking forward to getting to know you and sharing with you. Please feel free to ask us questions and hopefully you will get the answers you are looking for.

Hi Nick,

Sorry for your loss. What does practicing Norse paganism look like? I’ve never met a Norse pagan.

In belonging to the family of God through Christ, we have access to a source of love and joy that sustains us in the deeply sorrowful disasters in life. Jesus told us “in the world (in life) you will have many troubles, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” So he told us there will be troubles but we can still have joy. This is not possible to explain this comfort we have in words although it’s very real.

I’m not sure what help we can be to you, truthfully. I mean, we can pray to a God you reject to nevertheless improve your feelings but that is not what He generally does. He wants us to behave better, not feel better. I’m sure you don’t want to believe the teachings of Christ, you’ve stated your faith, and we respect that. But our God offers truth, not merely feeling better. (When one embraces truth, the heart is very much changed and a byproduct is joy, but that’s never the goal.)

Christians can feel deeply loved and cherished by the Living God. Does your Norse Paganism give you this?

Hi and welcome.

So sorry to hear about your friends. I know first hand what it’s like to lose someone close.

However, I also know the peace I have from God about it.

We as Christians don’t sorrow as others who have no hope of eternal life.

I hope and pray you discover Jesus, as your Lord and Savior;
your living hope.

God loves you dearly, so much so, He sent His only begotten Son to die for you, that your sins would be washed away, and that you would be born again, as a son of God.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

Cast all your worries to God because he cares for you.

God will not leave you nor forsake you.
Many come with various types of faith as there are over 5000 different religions in the world like you have in Norse Paganism in which I need to research as I love learning new things and never heard of this before. I do hope that you stay with us as we can share with each other and pray you find what you are looking for as it seems like you know some scriptures.
